People in the 21st century are busier than they were 10-20 years ago, and vacations have become an absolute necessity.🌻
Last year, as per usual, I was overburdened by my work and craved a break from it, along with my colleagues. The two of us got together and devised a plan to escape the hectic, hot metropolis of Colombo where we were working in favour of the countryside, where we could recharge our exhausted energies. Then we came up with the idea of visiting Lipton Seat, Haputhale, a stunning location teeming with friendly locals.🌾🌲🌲🌲
Around 7km of rising brought us to Lipton's Seat, which was surrounded by calm green tea estates, with the occasional brightly coloured tea plucker in sight. In Bandarawela, the Nayabedda estate offered one way, while the Dambatenna estate in Haputale offered the other. Both routes have clearly designated entrances but are narrow. Some of the road's stone constructions date back to Ceylon's British colonial era, so they were interesting to observe from a historical perspective. On average, it took us two and a half hours to reach the summit of the hill.
The view in the morning was so breathtaking that we almost forgot about our worries. 🙈🧘🧘 Although the area is frequently foggy, we were fortunate enough to witness a stunning dawn on this particular day.
🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷In addition to seeing the Dambatenne Tea Factory and tasting great tea, we also made time to visit the World End, which required a small fee, and to see Catherine's Seat and the Lemathota waterfall. While nearby, you'll have great views of the Bandarawela, Diyatalawa and Uva valleys as well as the Namunukula mountain ranges, including Bandarawela.
In the end, it was a pleasant journey. As soon as we found the tranquillity we'd been seeking, we were all energized and ready to get back to work.❤️🤗
