Our first ONE DAY RETREAT is officially over.
Helen, .aye and I agreed that this was just the beginning of our series. Currently we’re planning to do our next retreat in autumn so stay tuned!!

1.5hrs of Yoga have eased us into the day. It was about arriving. In our bodies and minds and creating the framework for us to be present. Helen once said when she does Yoga to her it feels like arriving at „home“. In this home is our individual selfs.
So this is us arriving and welcoming each other home.

9 days to go until our wellness retreat in Berlin.
Tobi Ayé, the founder of .official will be flying in from Lisbon to introduce us to her workshop called ‚soft space‘. We will relax and recharge in a room created for us by us!
Helen Workneh from will lead us through a yoga session and we will end our day by bathing our bodies consciously at the nearby Hamam.

I‘m looking forward to learn about soft tools that will help my body heal and reacharge longterm.
During this ONE DAY RETREAT we will come together as a community and learn to comprehend our bodies. What‘s more we will learn how to give back to ourselves.
The Yoga teacher Helen W. will guide us through a yoga session that shall help us connect with our bodies.aye will help us redefine wellness and teach us soft tools to respond to it when in need of love and relaxation.
Our highlight of the day will be soothing HAMAM BATH!

What to eat in Barcelona? Remember I asked that Eventim arrived? Here some answers:
1. Empanadas: my favorite ones are Chorizo and cheese and the tuna ones.
2. Paella of course. Loved the seafood one but the meat one is actually nice too although not as commonly served.
3. Pintxos- the area Poble sec is Full of Bars that serve them but the restaurant Maitea Taberna has really delicious ones.
4. Do not leave Barcelona without trying ham and Manchegocheese- for real y‘all be missing out. You can have it with your wine or beer or as a sandwich whatever try it! You’ll love it!

Regrets are no more than a consequence of life being full of possibilities. Rather than being frustrated by this be greatful for it since no choice is right or wrong when each choice we make gives us so much to learn. The more we learn of Life the more possibilities we see before us and the less need we have to ever dwell.

The calm we want, the calm we need is fed to us in the air we breathe. It is all around open your Heart and Feed off the calm that others exude. Do this because in the calm we give you may inspire in others the calm they need.

How would I be able to go to Lisbon and not do the ?
Exactly. Not an option. 😄
It was so interesting to dive into the colonial history of Portugal, more specific Lisbon.
On a personal level it encouraged me to keep doing the work in berlin with our city tours.
We’re currently on a winter break but from March on we‘ll continue with the tours on saturdays & Sunday’s. So stay tuned!
In the meantime I’m grateful I had the chance to connect with somebody who has already been doing it for years!

Lissabon is such a cute city that felt like home from the onset. Things feel easy and comfortable here. It’s a city that’s not too big because you can walk anywhere you’d like to go. You have cute restaurants, cafés and bars quite near and you have direct access to the water. It’s not too cold although you don’t have central heating in flats. So better bring a hot water bottle 😉
And boom you’re well equipped and the city will fill your days with excitement and joy.

Mental and physical health is extremely important for your well being.
I reconnect with myself on a daily basis:
1. I meditate every morning while walking my dog outside. I‘m not always sitting, sometimes I walk while listening to a guided meditation. This is how I always know about my biggest desires and personal goals.
2. I run minimum once a week with my running crew .
By training together I can connect with people in a really beautiful way that doesn’t always require talking. Sometimes it’s nice to simply have the same goal and give everyone the freedom to run at their own pace and be their bestselfs.
3. By reserving minimum one evening a week so I can have some me time. Most of the times I don’t even watch a Movie. I cook something nice, do my hair, go out for a long walk or simply call my mom.

Kumasi
Once the capital of the rich and powerful Ashanti kingdom, Ghana's second city is still dripping with Ashanti traditions. Cape Coast Castle

Cape Coast’s imposing, whitewashed castle commands the heart of town, overlooking the sea. Once one of the world's most important slave holding sites, it provides horrifying insight into the workings of the trade. Staff conduct hour-long tours, during which you’ll visit the dark, damp dungeons, where enslaved people waited for two to 12 weeks, while contemplating rumours that only hinted at their fate. A visit to the dungeons contrasts sharply with the governor’s bedroom, blessed with floor-to-ceiling windows and panoramic ocean views.

There’s also an excellent museum on the first floor, detailing the history of Ghana, the slave trade and Akan culture.

First converted into a castle by the Dutch in 1637 and expanded by the Swedes in 1652, the castle changed hands five times over the 13 tumultuous years that followed until, in 1664, it was captured by the British. During the two centuries of British occupation, it was the headquarters for the colonial administration until Accra was declared the new capital in 1877.
