Day 9: Rome!
Walking tour of the city center: Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Novona, the Spanish steps, and Basilica Santa Maria Sopra Minerva followed by
The best pizzeria and gelato!
The basilica is one of only two gothic cathedrals not destroyed by any of the changes Rome has seen over its centuries. The ceiling still maintains the gothic blue with stars shining throughout.
We saw Ancient Rome, Papal Rome, and Italian Rome- the three formations that make up the eternal city.
Rome has represented the heart of Italian culture for over 2,500 years, standing as a centre for art, literature, learning and religion throughout its long history. Today Rome is a lively modern capital that provides visitors with lot of varied experiences to enjoy.

Day 9: stunning Orvieto
The most unexpected and amazing cathedral. From the frescos that Michelangelo studied before completing the Sistine chapel, to an organ with more than 5,500 pipes, it was so worth visiting.
The sculptures on the front of the cathedral are an example of biblia paltro— picture art for the poor and uneducated. This is how the church communicated Gospel for centuries.
All roads lead to Rome— our final stop on this amazing food and wine tour of beautiful Italy.

Day 7: Beautiful Assisi
St. Francis is known for his ministry to the poor and underprivileged, his care for nature and animals, and founding the Franciscan order.
St. Francis was born to a wealthy cloth merchant. In his twenties, he took part in a war and was held prisoner for nearly a year. Shortly thereafter he had several experiences that shaped his conversion, and he renounced his worldly goods and family ties to embrace a life of poverty.
St. Francis was born in Assisi, Umbria, Italy, in 1181, and died in 1226. Patron Saint of: The environment, animals, and birdsbecause of the respect he gave to all God's creatures.
In 1224 Francis reportedly received a vision that left him with the stigmata of Christ — marks resembling the wounds Jesus Christ suffered when he was crucified, through his hands and the gaping lance wound in his side. This made Francis the first person to receive the holy wounds of the stigmata.
“Start by doing what is necessary, then what is possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible.”

Our group enjoyed wine tastings, and savored local delicacies from the farm. 🍷🍖
A perfect blend of history and innovation, the Carini family has been nurturing this land for generations.
