This is a 5km looping track great for a morning or afternoon visit to Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. The loop starts near the West Head Lookout (a great spot to have lunch and take in the views of the ocean and Palm Beach peninsula). The track travels down to Resolute Beach and passes by West Head Beach before heading back up to the Red Hands Cave.

Along the start of the Resolute Track, there is a significant Aboriginal historical site where carvings of a male human and hunting tools can be found. The artwork is estimated to be approximately 5,000 years old but is very well preserved. The loop has quite a few stairs so be sure to bring water and some sturdy shoes to help you navigate the steps. Enjoy the footage!

This is an 8.5km one-way track along the beautiful coastline of Bouddi National Park on the Central Coast of New South Wales. Located just over an hour by car from Sydney City Centre, this is a popular track that can be done in pieces of 2-3 km each or the entire 8.5kms from Putty Beach to McMasters Beach.

The track takes you along beautiful rock formations with ocean views and native Australian flowers along the way. There are also many coastal bird species all around. The track is not easy. It is a great workout with the many steps up and down. However, the part of the track between Putty Beach and Maitland Bay Beach is a bit easier than the rest.

Starting in Darling Harbour, walk the coastline of the Sydney CBD (Central Business District) hitting the most iconic landmarks: Sydney Harbour Bridge, Opera House, Royal Botanic Gardens as well as the newly-developed area of Barangaroo. The route is almost entirely flat and has many restaurants and cafés along the way to take a rest and enjoy the views (and people watching, of course!).

This is our first city hike. Despite being 100% urban, you will definitely come across an abundance of Sydney’s resident wildlife: Sulfur-crested cockatoos, White ibis (aka Bin chickens), Rainbow lorikeets, Magpies, Plovers, and more. Take a look into the water as you may also see jellyfish and stingrays swimming in the shallows. Enjoy!

While taking a break for some lunch beside Hacking River in Royal National Park, we spotted a huge Spiny Crayfish in the water. We sent the in for a closer look. Turns out, he either wanted to have a go (this is Aussie for ‘wanted to fight’), simply was curious…or wanted a hug?!

Similar to a Yabbie, these Crayfish are endemic to Australia but unlike Yabbies, they have spines all over their claws and thoracic region. Stunning colours - reds, oranges and blues with unique almost iridescent white spots in a beautiful arrangement.

We found a Lace Monitor (Goanna) along the Bobbin Head Track in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. These guys can grow up to 1.5m to 2m long so this one must be a young one. While not overly aggressive, they can bite so it is best to take a quick look and leave them alone. Always great to see them out in the bush!

(Watch in HD) What a lookout! This 4.5km return hike in Barren Grounds Nature Reserve is an awesome hike with a very, very rewarding view at the top. Pack a lunch and enjoy it with a spectacular view on the plateau. Sit at naturally-made rock formations in the shape of tables…and yes there’s even one shaped like a chair!

If you’re in the Shoalhaven Region near Kangaroo Valley, Australia add this one to your list. It's a must-do if you’re visiting. Enjoy the footage!

There were crunching and scratching noises coming from the brush next to the path near the Sphinx Memorial in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. It turned out to be a big Echidna rummaging about through the groundcover. While they are shy animals, they are not scared of humans and it is easy to get a close look of them. However, it is always a good idea to leave them be after taking a quick look as to not stress them out.

(Watch in HD) This is a stunning hike! The Grand Canyon Track in the Blue Mountains, Australia is one of our favourite hikes in the region. The 6.5km trek will take you down into a lush canyon filled with waterfalls, stunning cliff walls and overhangs to walk around, through and under! Depending on how high the water is in the creek, you may need to remove your shoes to cross the sandstone steps. Out of our three visits so far, 1 out of 3 required us to take our shoes off - its fun either way - or just jump into the big waterfall whilst you’re at it!

Located in Blackheath, NSW, Australia just 1.5 hours by car west of Sydney city centre, this hike is great for a day away from the city or a nice add-on to a weekend in the Blue Mountains. Enjoy the footage!

All Trailr trail reviews feature track highlights, what to watch out for and a review at the end covering track conditions, wayfinding, lookouts, flora & fauna, and fitness intensity.

(Watch in HD) Royal National Park is the world's second-oldest national park and beautifully sits just south of Sydney. You can reach it in about one hour by car from Sydney's City Centre or take the Sydney Trains down to Cronulla then take a ferry across to Bundeena. This section of the Royal Coast Track is great for beginners looking to challenge themselves. The track is well maintained and offers amazing views the entire trip. In this video, we take you on the trip from the start at Bundeena past The Balconies, Waterrun, the famous Wedding Cake Rock, and down to Marley Beach - enjoy!

The Berowra to Mount Kuring-Gai track is a beautiful walk through Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park just 1 hour by car north of Sydney City Centre. It is also easy to get to by public transport as the track connects two stations on the Sydney rail network - Berowra Station and Mount Kuring-gai station. It boasts excellent views of Cowan Creek most of the way and you can sometimes spot birds such as Rainbow Lorikeets, Red-tailed Black Cockatoos, and White-faced Herons.

The start and end of the track are the steepest sections - doable but a good workout! If you’re visiting Sydney and have some hiking experience, check this one out!
