We always remind our guests that as our property backs up to the National Park, there is potential for wildlife during their stay! After booking we provide information on bear safety so that our guests remember to be aware of their surroundings and respect these beautiful animals!

When I went to pick up freshly roasted coffee from this morning I saw this adorable hand painted towel from and had to buy it for our guests! They are celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary this weekend, and we are so happy they chose our cabin for their getaway!

Our guests sent us these pictures today with the caption “such a perfect Christmas,” and it made us tear up! It’s a blessing to be a part of making other’s holidays memorable, and we are beyond grateful we were able to keep the heat running and pipes from bursting in this crazy weather. We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!!

**Meet your host Monday!**

I wanted to make a post introducing myself for the followers that don’t know me! My name is Amanda, and I am a Knoxville native. I am a part time dental hygienist at an amazing office, a mom to two crazy kids, and the Highlander’s Rest host/property manager/cleaner. Two of my greatest loves are fitness and the outdoors, so I especially love activities where the two coincide. I have been drawn to the mountains ever since I was a child, and I attribute that desire to my parents. They grew up in Florida and frequented the Smoky Mountains until they decided to uproot their family to be closer to them. As I grew up and got married, that draw to be in the mountains grew stronger. Throughout mine and Corey’s marriage, anytime life became too overwhelming, we headed to the mountains for rest. We often found cabins to book for a weekend to reset before we headed back to reality. We have always dreamed of owning our own place of relaxation, and we are thrilled to be able to share that opportunity with others. Whether you need a weekend of solitude, time with family, or a week of adventure, we’d love to host you at our mountain home❤️

One of my favorite things about the cabin is that no matter what window you look out, you see trees. Even just coming here to clean for the next guest brings me peace, and I love that I get to share that with other people. Come and find some rest at our cabin in the woods - link in bio.
