Visit Waynesboro Tennessee Waynesboro is in the second largest county in Tennessee so there is plenty of room to move around. W

Waynesboro Tennessee is 75th out of the 95 counties in population while 2nd in size, making Wayne County the perfect place to retreat from a busy lifestyle. We are home to country music stars and prize winning authors who have made themselves a household name with their pens. The same river that brought Muscle Shoals their sounds, flows through our northern towns. Sit awhile on our banks and listen to what nature is telling you in Waynesboro Tennessee!

The winter is perfect for travelling the great indoors and the Wayne County Museum is a great place to go in and look around. The photos below don't do it justice so go in and look closely to the stitch detail in the uniforms, the fret detain on a well played acoustic guitar, read the print on some of the items that tell the story. You get a better appreciation this way. I believe they were open Monday through Friday about 10-4pm or so. Please drop some money in the donations as they do have to keep the place up and sizable donations would be greatly appreciated. I personally liked this museum as it had a great variety of things to see inside. The only page I could find is this one - https://www.facebook.com/WayneCountyTennesseeMuseum - so if there is a better one to link to let me know in the comments section.

It does seem like the west is moving east and trying to fit a state of 40 million into a state of 6.5 million. I believe I understand them better after I hear their stories of why they left and decided to move. The video below is from a family in California who moved to Knoxville and share their story. I don’t blame them for moving but I also have in me a territorial claim to our home state. Their message to fellow California citizens is to “fit in with the culture” that I would say would be my advice. https://youtu.be/67Am1uOVVjI?si=DmQzu63HGL5tfYhc As more move in more will move around. They will eventually have those who like the border counties.

This is our story of why we escaped California and why we chose Tennessee. We also discuss our honest experiences after one year. Hopefully, this information...

During my visits up highway 13 and back down I always see the sign that begins with The City of Waynesboro welcomes you and I believe it's true. Waynesboro is an inviting town with it's restaurants and outdoor entertainment to help us pass through to where we are going.

I wanna go here and some of the other horse riding places one day. I hear they are very nice and offer a place to stay under the stars. The Little Creek Ranch has a great page that shows these neat horse riding packages for those of us who want to ride but don’t want to get land and fences!

Have any of you been down to the vegetable stand at the Cypress Inn Mennonite community yet? It is just passed the Cypress Inn fire department on Weatherford Road about half a mile. As you pass Berry road be looking to your right and you will see the stand. It is cash only and included a scale to get proper weight and amounts. They have more selection than when we first went by so go by and try out their produce if you haven't already!

The Golden Goodies Donuts and Deli is a great place to shop for sweet donuts and savory deli items in Waynesboro. They have a drive through with the menu at the window that we thought was a great idea! They have many fun back to school donuts coming so go over to their page here - https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61555389153602 to see them and to find out their hours, address, phone number, and days of operation.

I found this neat place as I never knew who made the whiskey barrels you see in the Jack Daniel's Distillery. The Independent Stave Company bought out Brown-Forman last year and makes some of the best white oak barrels for the spirit industry. They have many locations and now one of them in on the way to Clifton. I am not sure the Jack Daniel's barrels are still made here, can anyone tell us? See their page here - https://www.facebook.com/independentstavecompany - as they may have a position open or program for those seeking forest management as a career field. I do not know much about the place or company but that I seen the sign and drove up to see this interesting place. What other interesting places should we check out? Tell us in the comment section below!

You can watch the river rise in Clifton Tennessee where the heavy rain will eventually go. Just go with the flow of this neat town in northern Wayne County. The T. S. Stribling Museum is a neat writing nook to peak into and take notes while the Clifton Marina is a great place to belly up to the bar and talk about the awesome prime rib they make on Thursdays! On nicer days the Ross Creek Landing Golf Course is a great 18 hole course that was a Jack Nicklaus course when I was a member. The Commodore Inn, Pillow Street B&B, and The Landing at 100 Main are neat places to stay if you want to hang out a while! It still seems strange to not see the ferry taking the cars across but the town seems to be moving forward with several places on Main Street. I didn't see a page to link to so could you tell me of a local travel related page to tag?

We went by Mommas Kitchen and tried their fish plates and hamburgers! They were both really good. I even show a few pieces broke open to show the texture of the fish and the quality of the batter! Wayne County has some of the best catfish and Mommas Kitchen has really good southern style approach with the batter blend and country sides. The burger was a classic cheeseburger with onion rings and we added fried okra and an order of spicy fries to compare. We liked the spicy fries better as my fish plate came with crinkle fries. Mommas Kitchen also has breakfast starting at 6am for you early risers so check out their page here - https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100042773066758 to see if any specials or new menu items are added before your trip. So what menu items would you like to try or which ones are your favorite? Tell us in the comments below!

The Wayne County Museum is on the Waynesboro Tennessee square next to the Golden Oldies radio station and has a collection of Wayne County native musical talent. We had heard of Mark Collie before but didn't know of many other musical talents until we took the tour. I believe the museum is open during the week and would be a great addition to the Walk of Fame tour. See their page here - https://www.facebook.com/WayneCountyTennesseeMuseum - we believe it was a great museum that is close to other points of interest on the square. Please donate some money to keep the place up as the historians are volunteers who can tell you all about the area and buildings on the square.

Oh my the attention to detail! Small Town Sweets on the Waynesboro Tennessee square has wonderful coffee drinks and blended drinks that we absolutely love! The large diameter straws for their milkshakes and blends are perfect for drinking them immediately instead of waiting until they melt enough to drink them. They have breakfast and lunch for those who want to dine in or get them to go. See their page as you can call ahead and skip the line https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100090172209789 We believe you should try this place out as they are one of our top recommended bakery and café locations. Their ice cream is from Hattie Janes Creamery in Columbia and their coffee is from a high quality roaster. They make everything in house by the owner that loves to serve her customers with food and drinks from top quality ingredients. See the photos below of what we seen during our visit after lunch as the stock was depleted by the customers before we arrived. Get in early is our advise!

The Waynesboro Walk of Fame is located on the sidewalk around the Waynesboro courthouse and shows the musical talent from the area. The Mark Collie music pathway sign marks the place to start where you can see the individuals who are inductees of the walk of fame but they ask you to keep from walking on the stars on the sidewalk. We show the places where you can find them below in our photo gallery. Please Like and Follow our page and share our page with your friends as we show you the places we visit in Wayne County and surrounding areas! Do you have a story with one of the stars on the walk of fame? Tell us in the comment section below!
