We had a great run of 81 middle and high school band and orchestra recordings in the month of March, serving thousands of students in East Tennessee by recording their performances during the 2024 East Tennessee School Band & Orchestra Association Concert Performance Assessments. Students are critiqued by three judges stationed in the hall, who have copies of the scores and provide feedback about the ex*****on in real time.

We captured the adjudicators comments and the students’ exhibitions with classical large ensemble recording techniques, esoteric equipment, redundancy in the recording chain, and even a battery backup to ensure nothing was missed! We delivered a package of audio files to each director for their review, and for distribution among the students, and we are swooning over what we captured! Their performances were absolutely astounding!

We are honored to have experienced their music from what we feel is the best seat in the house - under headphones! (But that’s what we do) 🎶🎧

Don has a 7 piece band of some really great musicians joining him out of Meridian MS and Chattanooga TN, including the nephew of Jimme Rodgers, Rick McWilliams! Guaranteed to scratch your classic country and western itch, and only a lousy ten bucks! You can’t even feed and water your horse for that anymore. Our (very) large analog plate reverb is freshly tuned and serviced and singing like a bell. When you push the faders up it's like your head is wrapped in a big, fluffy, 8 foot steel blanket. Ok, maybe the word imagery isn't on point, but the stereo image sure is. Send me a mono stem or track before the end of the year, and I'll make it stereo. Freebie! Naturally, you'll want it on your whole record, though 😁 -Greg

Alesis ADAT XT

The early days of our mobile concert recording rig! These Alesis ADAT XT units recorded 8 channels of 16 bit digital audio to each of three Super VHS tapes. We used them as back up recorders, and boy were they HEAVY! Tapes had to be changed about every thirty minutes. Recording start was delayed by a few seconds on each of the slave decks as they sync'd to the master.
