Joseph E. Boyle (“Joey”), age 32 of Saranac Lake, NY set off on his quest for bigger fish and eternal sunsets on January 15, 2025.

Joey was known to anyone who was into fishing in this small town - he will surely be missed.

A member of the community has generously stepped forward and offered to cover ALL YOUTH REGISTRATION FEES for the 2025 Colby Classic Ice Fishing Derby in memory of Joey.

"Our hope is that this sponsorship could give a child- someone who might not have the had the chance- a shot at entering the Classic and maybe even finding their own passion for fishing" they said.

Last year we had 51 youth entries. With this offer, we hope to sign up 100, each of which will receive a great little gift. Please share!

Took a mid afternoon break from the whitetail chase to play with some spawning salmon on the Saranac River. A lot of spawning fish located on the various gravel beds. Some wanted to hit the swim baits and some where to active spawning and had no interest in any presentation!!
A lot of fun catching several fish in the 4-7 lb zone!!

We have some monster target Adirondack bucks on some of our favorite mountain haunts waiting to challenge us this season!!!

Kole is definitely a shooter & retriever!! Jason you need to go buy this lad some more ammunition for his next run….!!!!

Honestly, it’s all a conspiracy by the state and ammunition companies, Not his fault ammo is running low!!!! Some birds have been issued Kevlar by DEC, which requires center mass double taps and one to the running lights if the first two rounds fail. Hence why steel shot has doubled in price..

That lone goose I called down the fairway this morning was a perfect example of the conspiracy!!! That bird was last scene flying & laughing North to McDonald’s on Rt 9 for some free fries in the parking lot and a flight debriefing by Cumberland Head Wing Commander Colonel Craig Matthews. 🤷‍♂️

Jameson Law Enforcement lake trout challenge 2024 is a wrap!!!

Definitely an awesome time once again having retired an active Law Enforcement
Brothers & Sisters out on Champlain for some fishing, war stories and a lot of laughs!!!

Looking forward to having you hooligans onboard in the 2025 season!!!

Two things to NOTE:

1. Yes we’re going to hear Kelly Allen bragging for a year about kicking everyone’s ass !!

2. Ray J’s buddy that ran with his crew wasn’t into fishing. However, that lad turned the bow casting deck into a breakfast buffet!! Unbelievably food “venison sausage was amazing” and his breakfast Bloody Mary’s were just as good as Gary Morette!!! I’ll pay that lad to run with me everyday in 2025!!

Huge shout out to the Castaway on the Bay crew for taking care of our hungry dehydrated fishermen this season!!

Can’t leave out the Day Brothers Boats and Outdoor
Crew & Billy Miller for keeping us on the water & repairing the things we broke during this season!
Awesome crew Jimmy has there!!

Sometimes I use Fish Booker to fill in days we’re not booked, which can be a pain in the butt juggling schedules. However, it’s cool to meet folks from all over the country. Plus their next seasons runs are booked directly through us!!

Guess this Ole Boy with a little experience on those Easy 🐟 met the expectations of some folks.

Totally 💯 enjoy having this Saranac Hollow crew out every year!! Definitely not as productive as our normal July or August lake trout runs of years past. But for September the lads were able to catch a mixed bag on the afternoon run.
Brian scored a nice small mouth on a lake trout jig!!
Lucas also caught his smallest lake ever with us. But it was a healthy native which was released to grow up. We searched for a pike for Storm on the same w**d beds from the morning run, to only score small mouths this evening.

James is on the Law Enforcement Jamison board with #5.086..

And the Lads gave me a new lucky Captain’s hat!!
