Black business owners own 3.5 million businesses and employ more than 1.2 million people in the United States. This represents an annual increase of over 7 percent in people employed by Black entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurship is no easy task though - with one in five businesses failing within the first year and 50% failing by year five.

Let's do our part this holiday season to support the Black-owned small businesses in the Upstate!

I am so very excited about the South Carolina Empowerment & History Museum in 2025!!

Ms. Ruth Ann Butler was my introduction to the history of my people here in Greenville. I would take my guests straight to the museum during their visit to Greenville. It will be my honor to do the same again soon.

The South Carolina Empowerment & History Museum aims to continue the efforts of the Greenville Cultural Center and preserve Ruth Ann Butler's work

This is why I share history now. Our history makers are leaving us quickly.

Stacy Brandon at Bank of America and Upcountry History Museum - Thank you for this stupendous exhibit!

I was floored to see a pieces by greats like Faith Ringold, Romare Bearden, and James Van Der Zee and learn about more recent artists like Jamel Shabazz here in our very own Upcountry History Museum
This collection is amazing and they have displayed it with the honor it deserves.

Thanks to Stacy Brandon and her team of local representatives as well as to Brian Seigel,SVP Global Arts, Culture, and Heritage for sharing a portion of this collection with our community!!

Thank you to Gail WilsonAwan and Urban League of the Upstate for allowing me the opportunity to represent at this grand opening event.
