TLU Travel Chronicles: Alaska Edition, featuring our happy travelers and .

The Legacy Untold crafted a bespoke, adventure-packed itinerary, showcasing the best of Alaska’s natural wonders. From the incredible Favorite Bay Lodge on the shores of Admiralty Island, within Tongass National Forest—the largest temperate rainforest in North America—to the beautiful Jorgensen House, a family-owned B&B in a quiet downtown Juneau neighborhood.

Just minutes from the lodging, they enjoyed thrilling saltwater sport fishing, targeting all five species of wild Pacific salmon, alongside monster halibut and trophy-sized Dolly Varden. With the guidance of experienced, Coast Guard-certified local captains, they traveled in large comfortable boats, were treated to onboard gourmet lunches, and were given the option to process up to 100 lbs of fish per person for their journey home! (Processing includes fileting of fish, modern vacuum sealing, flash freezing and packaging in an insulated fish box)

They explored secluded freshwater waterways, casting lines for prime cutthroat trout via fly-fishing and spin casting. A highlight of their trip was the unforgettable whale watching in Chatham Straits, where they witnessed humpback whales engaging in unique bubble-net feeding behavior. Insanely special!

Fed by the Asif M’Goun River, Rose Valley’s cultivation drives the local economy and supplies much of the world’s rose-derived products. Nearly 4,000 tons of petals are harvested annually.⁠

At the height of the season, the Moussem of Roses takes place—a three-day festival featuring folk singing and Ahidous dancing, known as the dance of the bees. Women dress in traditional attire, wear rose necklaces, and sprinkle themselves with rose water as they line up to be chosen as the next « Miss Rose. »⁠

In partnership with One&Only Resorts, The Legacy Untold recently raised funds to provide solar light to over 2,000 families living without electricity. We are currently working in partnership with the incredible South-Africa based organization Uthando to carry out this beautiful initiative. 

Giving the gift of solar light allows adults to work after sunset, without burning fires inside their huts for light, dramatically reducing respiratory illnesses while increasing productivity and the ability to earn money. These lights enable children to do their homework in the evening after chores are done, allowing them to build a better future. When women carry portable lights while walking in the evening, there is also a dramatic reduction in gender-based violence.

Exploring the future of transportation in a driverless Jaguar with @Waymo in Los Angeles.  After unlocking the car through the app, I could easily adjust the music and climate settings. The ride was impressively smooth, surpassing the comfort of a traditional taxi or Uber. The car also provided a support button for assistance, although the microphone remains off unless you initiate contact. Overall, the experience was seamless—when another driver unexpectedly cut in front, the car responded swiftly and handled the situation perfectly. As autonomous vehicles continue to evolve, it’s clear that traditional taxis may soon be a thing of the past. Riding with Waymo during their launch week was a fascinating glimpse into the future of transportation. #thelegacyuntold #mylegacy
