Here is the latest, hot off the presses:
I spoke a couple of weeks ago, with a member of the Executive Team at Celebrity and laid out some concerns that we have and others that had been discussed on here. Tonight, I received a follow up call from her. Here are the most salient portions of our conversation. The ship will have reduced capacity...A maximum of 50% of regular capacity will be allowed. At this point, Celebrity would have to sell 700 spots to reach 50%. If Cayman is still closed to cruise ships in April, the replacement will be Jamaica (a chance for me to wear my touristy Jamaica shirt). Originally she told me that we could only get off the ship in Curacao, if we were with a curated excursion. However, she took another look at one of her resources and it turns out that Curacao has now been added to the list of ports that we can explore ourselves....This is great news to us. There will be no restrictions while in Curacao, other than making it back to the ship in time. COVID tests have to be taken on or after April 13 and we will of course need the results before we board. You can make an appointment at a Rite Aid or CVS...among others. You no longer have to go through having a video chat as long as your test is from an accredited facility. That's it for now but I thought that you all would like to be brought up to date....We are now less than two months away!
