The National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) is advising the public to exercise caution when visiting coastal areas across the island, following reports of Portuguese man o’ war (Physalia physalis) washing ashore in parts of Portland. NEPA says beachgoers and individuals engaging in coastal activities should remain vigilant, as the Portuguese man o’ war can still sting even after it is dead, due to a reflex action of its tentacles.

Bob Marley: One Love - Music Inspired By The Film (Deluxe) — Various Artistes was the non-surprising winner in the Best Reggae Album category at the 67th Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday evening. The 10-track album contains songs from Bob Marley’s grandchildren Skip Marley, son of daughter Cedella and Mystic Marley, daughter of son, Stephen; Best Reggae Album nominee, Shenseea; Kacey Musgraves, winner of the Best Country Song at this year’s awards; Bloody Civilian, Daniel Caesar, Wizkid, Jessie Reyez, Leon Bridges and Farruko.

Setting the stage for a transformative experience in Jamaica’s hospitality sector, Princess Hotels and Resorts, which is merely two months old, is proving to be a hit with visitors as it has secured 100 wedding bookings and more than 60 group reservations for 2025. Marc Pelfort, the hotel chain’s regional group director of sales and marketing, told The Gleaner last week at the International Tourism Conference FITUR 2025 in Madrid, Spain, that one of the standout features at the resort, which is based in Green Island, Hanover, is its unique island in the bay, which is designed exclusively for weddings.
