The Aye-Aye(Daubentonia madagascariensis) is a species of strepsirrhine primate that lives in Madagascar. It is the only species of the genus Daubentonia, itself the only member of the daubentonidae family.
The aye-aye is a very particular primate which has numerous and quite singular derived characters. Its incisors are reminiscent of those of rodents, its ears those of bats and its tail those of squirrels. Finally, it has a particular adaptation, the third finger of the hand is extremely elongated. It has an arboreal lifestyle, which makes it occupy an ecological niche similar to those of woodpeckers or squirrels on other continents such as Europe.

It measures 75 to 90 cm long – including 44 to 53 for the tail – and weighs 2 to 3 kg. Both sexes are apparently impossible to identify
