It’s been an awesome gig!
This is our first site , so we don’t have past experience for comparison.

Here’s a typical work day for us…

⏰9:00am Trash Round Up
(Lots of chatting & dog petting happens during this time.)

⏰10:00am Laundry Room 👀
(Nothing exciting ever happens here.)

⏰10:15am Bathhouse Scrubdown
(You can tell a lot about a person by how they treat a bathroom…🤨
)

⏰11:00am Last Call
(One more trash bag Easter egg hunt around the campground)

⏰11:15 Raid the Supply Closet
(More gabbing ensues! We like chatting. Lol)

⏰11:30 CLOCK OUT
(Buh Bye!)

We’re 1 of 2 CampHost families @ this campground.
Our shifts run Thursday -> Wednesday.
Alternating weeks.

When needed, I identify as the “office lady” answering phones…booking reservations & of course more chatting.

Camp Hosting is a volunteer position.
Your time -in exchange for- stay.

For fellow families w| kids out there …

We work camp-hosting into our day.

IMO. This lifestyle makes dealing out responsibilities a little more difficult than traditional “stick & bricks” living.

(we don’t have a yard to mow or huge bedrooms to clean)

As a , Camp Hosting has become a responsibility “job” that my kiddos take pride in & genuinely look forward to doing.

I don’t allow them to clean the toilets or showers. But trash, sweeping & mopping is fair game!

Also, NO I do NOT pay them for their services.

They understand that work camping covers our monthly site fee & that’s payment for all of us.

Not gonna lie tho, Golf cart privileges are a big motivator for them too! LOL.

HERE Houston led the Rebel charge against Santa Ana to secure Texas’ independence from Mexico.

A 1700’s abandoned Mission where Natives were trained to be Spanish citizens.

The park ranger here is a retired Social Studies teacher & gem!
She can 💯 be my substitute teacher any day!

The fort held by General Fannin & his group of Texan Rebels.

The still operating chapel where Fannin’s men were held before being executed.

👎The park is situated below two pretty busy bridges, so it can be a little noisy at first.

I’m happy to live in a van down by the river any day.

Just not without bug spray🤪🦟 lol.

If you’re thru and want a to the …. Stay at 👉TOM SAWYER RV.

👍Ya can’t beat the location.

Outside the city, but less than 20 mins from all the Memphis heavy hitters.

The Bathhouses & Laundry (see pictured) are understandably elevated. The river does flood.

TONS of W I D E open green-space. Fishing ponds. Riverboats & barges up and down the river all day🙌 Never gets old.

We’ve stayed here 2x and I’ve booked this park for clients. I wouldn’t camp anywhere else in Memphis.

Such an awesome story of & 🤍

The museum tour includes duck calls for each person + Miss Kay’s cookbook.

You walk thru the Robertson family story & the journey.

Ya also get to build your own duck call in the duck room. Kids loved it!

The entire park … from staff interaction to functionality … is

👍Sabrina is a gem!!
She put us in the easiest pull-thru site, knowing that we would be tired & arriving after dark.

On top of being super easy to find…

After hours Check-In was a breeze!

Our packet even included brochures of places we were interested in going & Cave Country merch.

👍The park was everything we needed!

Friendly.
Reasonably Priced.
GoodSam.
XL Full Hook Up Sites.
Quiet.
Clean.
Bathhouse.
Laundry.
Game-room.
Bark Park.
Pool.
Propane.
W I D E open space my feral pack of children to be their outdoor loving selves!!

👍Convenient to all the & attractions.

Including👇

👍We landed @ on a whim…expecting to only stay a few days.

SURPRISE🙌

We ended up staying A WEEK and still weren’t ready to leave!!

I have a feeling we’ll be back again.

Thank you for hosting us!

We needed to be near and are lucky to have snagged a spot here.

👍It’s a small park. Friendly staff. Clean. 40ft + Gravel pads. Dog friendly. Quiet neighbors. | We were most definitely the loudest there🤪

The road down to the 2nd tier was a little steeper than I expected, but totally doable! | See Photos |

There is no bathhouse or laundry, but no worries! There are several laundromats in the area.

👍Convenient to and

is just around the corner from

a HIGHLIGHT✨was watching the cars run the tracks.

We also took a trip downtown, which is always a fun time!

is a MUST SEE and is a MUST DO!!

👍Pleasant SURPRISE✨ Despite being in an industrial area… GSP Park is designed w| lots
GREEN-SPACE & NATURE for feral kids like mine to explore. Lol.

Fire pit areas w|seating. Bark Park. Open space for tossing a ball. Nature trail w| stream & lots of wildlife.

Notice I didn’t say R for “Resort.”

If you book here expecting hot tubs and water slides…it’s not that kinda resort.

If you’re a race-fan and your options for camping are either:
A. Hoof it 1+ miles to a field w|o hookups in the Carolina Summer.
-OR -
B. Take an easy paved walk to a gavel site with 50amps for HIGH A/C & a sewer set-up…this is YOUR resort! 😎

Please do not get me wrong…
Our crew has stayed here several times and it’s every thing we need each time!♥️

👉Full hook ups. 50amp. Coinless Laundry. Bathhouse. Playground. Big Rig & Pet Friendly. No RV age restrictions.

👉Great location if you’re visiting or working on the Northside of .

Park is directly across the street from
(Not encouraging anyone to buy, but….perusing the lot on evening walks is about as close as I’m going to get to my own personal RV show without the crowds. LOL. Entertaining)
