A stunning ancient creation!

This ancient treasure is one of the few beautiful things left on the island from the 16th Century - the Dambadeniya era. It is located 7 km from Badulla, and it’s an absolutely striking and completely made of wood.

The unique thing is the wood from this bridge is said to have come from one tree. A rare construction with a 2.4 m tiled roof, or its entire span of nearly 15 metres (49 ft.) length with a 1.5 metres (4.9 ft.) breadth. It’s also decorated in ancient designs created on either side. A real beauty to witness.

Tea for Two

Rich, creamy and flavorful…Sri Lankan Milk Tea is all that and more. Often found on the side of the road and composed of makeshift (and often unstable seating,) the quintessential Tea Kade (shop) serves strong Black Tea with a sugary piece of Jaggery to boot. Or, if preferred copious amounts of milk and sometimes even condensed milk can be added for you to sip, sip, away!
