Calligraphy competition of Korea (2024, 32nd)
I'm practicing for the 2024 competition these days, and I realised I hadn't posted last year's photos yet.

Every year, i participate in the competition. I usually start to prepare it in December and it happens in April.
It takes many hours and it's quite tiring.

One piece of work takes 2-3 hours.
From making the ink, folding the paper, and make the last stroke. But it is very relaxing and rewarding.

Achasan mountain in Seoul, 287m high (926ft)
This trail is easy and enjoyable for anyone including beginners.

Even though the hiking is easy-level, there are so many trails in this mountain. Please hike there with someone who knows the area well. Don't put yourself in danger especially in winter.

🚩 You MUST wear crampons in any mountain in Korean winter. Don't underestimate the nature just because it's a low mountain in the city.
🚩 Every winter I meet dozens of people who didn't bring crampons and have extremely hard time especially when hiking down.

Gaiters are recommended, but not a must.

Mt.Gwanggyosan and Mt.Baegunsan in Suwon city

We hiked two mountains, visit the pretty temple - Baegunsa, and ate soybean sprout rice in the stone bowl.

On the mountain, I saw this monument. They found bones and belongings of Korean soldiers who passed away there during the Korean war. I'm always grateful that I was born in Seoul, which is only 60km away from North Korea.

Sunrise in Taegisan mountain, Gangwon province

Yes. It was extremely cold.
My eyelashes were frozen. My hair was frozen. The area has lots of windmill as it's very windy.
-15 degrees and strong wind.

So we had ramen. 👍

A perfect sunrse hiking in Korea. 😊

Daedunsan mountain (878m), Jeollabuk-do, Korea
Walk on the thrilling ladder stairs in Daedunsan mountain. The trail is easy to follow, but very steep and not well maintained. Don't hike there alone, especially in winter!

♠︎ Samseon stairway - It's 36meter long, 0.5meter wide, 51 degrees with 127steps. If you have climbed to Baegundae summit in Bukhansan mountain, it's about 40degrees near the summit.
♠︎ Geumgang Gureum Bridge - this steel bridge is at 81meter, 50meter long and 1.2meter wide.
♠︎ Walk up to the summit and cable car down - Approx 2.8km, 3hours. If you take the cable car for both ways, 1.5hour would be enough for the round trip

You can stay at the lodge in the mountain. The owner gave us a small gift of autumn leaves and lovely flowers 🥰🌼
