Resolutions and goals have never worked for me, especially with my anxiety. But this Type A Capricorn needed something to strive for, which is why a few years ago, I created the concept of a Word of the Year. Every January, I search within myself for a word that feels pressing on my heart. Last year, the word was patience—and let me tell you, it was no easy feat. However, by the Fall, I experienced a sense of relief I’ve never felt before once I let go and truly embraced being patient. I’m by no means perfect and I fail… a lot, but having the word constantly in my mind helps more than I ever expected.

I actually discovered my word for 2025 at the beginning of December, and I knew right away that I needed it. Here’s to a new year focused on becoming better by listening more than I speak. Let’s see how this goes! :)
