We’re about to set off on the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC ) tomorrow, sailing almost 3000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean from Las Palmas to St Lucia.

We’re super excited to get into the rhythm of life at sea again, get some awesome miles under our belt and more importantly, a first Atlantic crossing for 2 of the guys onboard!

Crossing the Atlantic almost 10 years ago with .whitelum and .carausu changed my life massively, and it was the coolest experience I had ever had (by a mile!). I’m so excited to head across again, on this new, updated version of La Vagabonde II, the 45 named ‘Falmari’.

You can follow along on or the app, just search for Atlantic Rally for Cruisers and select ARC (not ARC+).

The start looks light but the trade winds should fill in nicely once we head south a bit.

Adverse weather brought us to Lagos, Portugal for an unexpected but fun layover on the way to the Canary Islands. We really enjoyed our time here meeting other Outremer sailors and exploring the old town. We did some laundry, made some small repairs and reprovisioned before setting off a few days later.

Offshore Adventure trip update! ⛵️💨

We are on our way south and have had a mix of calm motoring and exciting sailing, with a top speed of 14 knots so far. We have an all-time crew onboard and are looking forward to getting out of the Mediterranean into the open ocean! It’s slowly getting warmer but the nights are still fresh. Yet to catch a fish, but we didn’t buy bananas so we guess it’s a skill or luck problem.

We sailed into the beautiful little town of Gaios on the island of Paxos, Greece. Because of blustery conditions we stayed two nights here and loved it!

We made the most of our time and explored the island by foot. The island is full of historical sites and stunning coastline - definitely worthwhile taking a hike there if you get a chance.

Our Greece Flotilla was another incredible week on the water, with new and old friends joining us from around the world. As usual, everyone got along so well onboard and we cannot wait to see everyone again soon!
