There’s always an odd mix of anticipation, relief and happiness, mixed with a little disappointment, when returning to land after a long sailing trip. It’s great to be able to step off the boat and decompress a little, but suddenly being thrown back into the hustle and bustle of land life is almost a bit overwhelming.
Hearing traffic moving down a busy road, loud music from a bar, or even unfamiliar voices can sometimes make you wish you could just go on sailing forever.
The simplicity of life at sea is beautiful. Eat, sleep, sail. Your day revolves around keeping the boat moving towards your destination, and little else matters. It’s nice.
Anyway, all this means is after 5 days on the dock I am SO ready to go sailing again, I just love it so much - Jack
