So excited to fly to FIJI 🇫🇯 today with the family.

Anyone who follows me knows I like to get few fast facts about a destination before arrival. Let’s take a look into these South Pacific islands.

🏝️ Fiji is made up of 332 islands

🗣️There are 3 official languages spoken here - English, Hindi and iTaukei (the native language)

🍹Kava is the traditional drink of Fiji and used for herbal medicine

💀Once known as the Cannibal Islands, where some small remote islands still practiced until the late 19th century! Yikes!

🔥Firewalking was invented here

💦Ever heard of Fiji water? It’s really from Fiji!

🎶Meke, a performance of storytelling is Fiji’s traditional dance. A lali is a traditional drum used to keep the rhythm and beat.

Jao Camp

Fresh modern interior unlike any other camp we visited with huge suites all equipped with plunge pool, indoor & outdoor shower, 1.5 bath and beds so comfy it’s like sleeping on a cloud. No joke.

Cuisine here was elevated and creative with delicious vegetarian options. We had the pleasure of attending their Boma with music, food, drinks and culture.

Jao camp has all the luxuries you might need including a spa, pool, gym, wine cellar and churio (little shop full of carefully curated items).

Located on the Okavango Delta here you can enjoy land and boat safari and also a Mokoro (canoe meets gondola).

Buying little trinkets for the kiddos along the way.

With Botswana 🇧🇼

Upon landing there was a heard of elephants by the side of the dirt landing strip. On just the drive to the camp we see more elephants and animals I never dreamed of seeing. 🐘🐘

Food so delicious. Loving the wine particularly the Pinotage. More animal sighting like leopard, ostrich, giraffes, baboons, hippos and more. Plus just the nicest welcoming people. And can we talk about this impeccable camp

It is literally a dream come true.

Beyond giddy!

In 3 days I am embarking on a bucket list journey to Botswana and Zimbabwe. The thought of seeing this area and all it has to offer brings tears to my eyes.

Before departure, I always like to learn little facts about the destination. Let’s take a look at Botswana!

👦🏾 Botswana’s total pop**ation is over 2.1 million making it one of the least pop**ated countries in the world

🗣 The official language is English, however most speak Setswana or Tswana

💰 P**a is their currency which was established in 1976. The word P**a means rain.

🌳 The most common tree is called baobabs, some of which are over 2,000 years old!

🐘 38% of Botswana is reserved for national parks, reserves and wildlife management areas.

💎 Diamond revenue pays for the primary education of Botswana’s children until the age 13. It is the 3rd largest diamond producer after Russia and Canada.

💙The University of Michigan’s football program is an institution playing their first game in 1879!

💛The wolverines play in The Big House, the biggest stadium in the country (3rd in the world) which holds 109,901 enthusiast fans. Trust me the energy is electric!

💙This is home to where many all-star NFL players got their start like Tom Brady and Charles Woodson

💛Interestingly there is no advertising allowed on the field
