Wow, what a kind review from one of our recent guests 😍

"This place is my favourite place I've stayed in NZ. It was so beautiful, and all the amazing decor and little touches just made it feel really special. It was spacious, but still cosy, the beds were super comfortable, the shower was delightful, and the outdoor bath was extra luxurious (especially after a few days camping). Āpiti is a sweet little town, and the Apiti Tavern & Eatery is awesome. Loved the recommendations from Jemma. And the best part is, we could take our dogs (they loved it too)."

Happy new year! ❤️ A huge thank you to everyone who has stayed at the Last Church in Āpiti and those who are yet to come.

When we joined Airbnb in 2020 we really had no idea of the journey ahead and it has totally exceeded all our expectations. Today, we welcome people from all over New Zealand and the world 🌎

We love this little village and sharing it with people who want to relax, explore the area and learn about its history.

And finally, a massive thanks to our incredible team who help us to maintain the place and have it ready for our guests - we couldn’t do this without you.

We hope everyone is having a relaxing holiday! Bring on 2023.

Jemma, Alexander and Isabella x

The Last Church in Āpiti

Kia Ora! Welcome to The Last Church in Āpiti, a boutique accommodation and event venue in Āpiti, northern Manawatū.

Originally a Sunday School and church, these two buildings have been renovated into a quirky and unique place to stay and relax.

Āpiti is a small rural village nestled at the base of the Ruahine Ranges and is known as the gateway to these majestic mountains. Whether you’re after a weekend of exploring the region (glow worms, views of Mt Ruapehu, beautiful native bush walks) or you just want to escape to the fresh mountain air, our roaring wood fire and outdoor cast iron bathtub will help you to unwind.

We’re a scenic two and a half hour drive from Wellington, 50 minutes from Palmerston North, or 40 minutes down The Country Road from the SH1 turn off at Mangaweka.
