【Station Ride歴史探訪ツアーが無事終わりました】Station Ride`s Historical Tour Successfully Completed ~ English follows
週末の土曜日は寒い一日ですが参加者の温かい気持ちに支えられて無事ツアーを終えました。
古代、阿波国の人々が海路黒潮に乗り、布良に上陸され、自分達の祖先を祀るために安房神社を建てたと伝われております。やがて時は経ち、安房地域は栄え、独特の海洋文化を誇るようになります。明治時代、布良はマグロの延縄(はえなわ)漁が盛んでした。活気づいた漁村の風景のなかで描かれた青木繁の絵は、西洋画として日本で最初の重要文化財となります。また同じころの1900年代にアメリカ、モントレーに渡ったアワビ漁師達が大漁の祝いに配ったとされる「モントレー万祝」が最近になって復元されました。千倉とモントレーには長い交流の歴史があるのです。このように安房地域の海洋文化の歴史は多様性に富み、実に興味深いです。
そんな場所を自転車で周るツアーでした。地元の方も大変面白いツアーですのでまた今度やりたいと思います。
Saturday was a cold day, but we were able to complete the tour safely thanks to the warmth of the participants.
It is said that in ancient times, the people of Awa of Shikoku took the Kuroshio sea route, landed in Mera, and built Awa Shrine to worship their ancestors. As time passed, the Awa area flourished and began to boast a unique maritime culture. During the Meiji period, Mera was popular for tuna longline fishing. Shigeru Aoki's paintings depicting the scenery of a vibrant fishing village were the first Western paintings to be designated as important cultural properties in Japan. Also, in the 1900s, the ``Monterey Maiwai'', which is a fishermen Kimono is said to have been handed out to abalone fishermen who went to Monterey, America to celebrate their big catch, has recently been restored. Chikura and Monterey have a long history of exchange. As you can see, the history of maritime culture in the Awa region is rich in diversity and truly interesting.
It was a bicycle tour around such places. It's a very interesting tour for the locals, so we'd like to do it again.
