Yesterday, we went on a day tour with a repeat guest whose parents came from overseas. We climbed a hill to see a breathtaking waterfall, had a delicious meal at a farmhouse restaurant, enjoyed a cup of coffee at an art gallery, and took a stroll along the wooden pier at the beach. It was a very pleasant experience, and I enjoyed it just as much as our guest did!

週末の土曜日は寒い一日ですが参加者の温かい気持ちに支えられて無事ツアーを終えました。
古代、阿波国の人々が海路黒潮に乗り、布良に上陸され、自分達の祖先を祀るために安房神社を建てたと伝われております。やがて時は経ち、安房地域は栄え、独特の海洋文化を誇るようになります。明治時代、布良はマグロの延縄(はえなわ)漁が盛んでした。活気づいた漁村の風景のなかで描かれた青木繁の絵は、西洋画として日本で最初の重要文化財となります。また同じころの1900年代にアメリカ、モントレーに渡ったアワビ漁師達が大漁の祝いに配ったとされる「モントレー万祝」が最近になって復元されました。千倉とモントレーには長い交流の歴史があるのです。このように安房地域の海洋文化の歴史は多様性に富み、実に興味深いです。
そんな場所を自転車で周るツアーでした。地元の方も大変面白いツアーですのでまた今度やりたいと思います。
Saturday was a cold day, but we were able to complete the tour safely thanks to the warmth of the participants.
It is said that in ancient times, the people of Awa of Shikoku took the Kuroshio sea route, landed in Mera, and built Awa Shrine to worship their ancestors. As time passed, the Awa area flourished and began to boast a unique maritime culture. During the Meiji period, Mera was popular for tuna longline fishing. Shigeru Aoki's paintings depicting the scenery of a vibrant fishing village were the first Western paintings to be designated as important cultural properties in Japan. Also, in the 1900s, the ``Monterey Maiwai'', which is a fishermen Kimono is said to have been handed out to abalone fishermen who went to Monterey, America to celebrate their big catch, has recently been restored. Chikura and Monterey have a long history of exchange. As you can see, the history of maritime culture in the Awa region is rich in diversity and truly interesting.
It was a bicycle tour around such places. It's a very interesting tour for the locals, so we'd like to do it again.

【Free private eBike tour on Feb. 21】
We will have an private ride - up to 5 persons - on Feb. 21 at Kamogawa. It will be a Temple & Shrine Exploration Tour riding approximately 20km from the mountains to the sea visiting the Shrines/Temples and learning about the shrine manners and its` history. Off course we will comply strictly with the COVID-19 prevention policy. Given the current situation we have decided to offer this tour for FREE. 最後の週末ですが天気に恵まれ、里山周遊ツアーのガイド陣およびそのお仲間で万葉の里発着で走っております(瀬戸川は店番で居残り）里山周遊ツアー以外のルートも色々と開発して本日も試走しています。近々どこかに掲載します（その際はまたご報告します）。万葉の里は引き続きサイクリストを応援します。奥の駐車場に駐車して一日走る（パーク＆ライド）のは大歓迎です。ライド後食べたくなる美味しいパンと麺類・ご飯ものもあります。今後共宜しくお願いいたします。

【うまくた発着 里山周遊ツアー本日無事終えました！】
天候に恵まれ、コースに恵まれ、そして参加者の皆様とスタッフにも恵まれ、本日無事イベントを終えることができました。
イベント中に参加者同士が繋がり、参加者とガイドが繋がり、ガイド同士が繋がり、そしてスタッフの皆様と繋がるのが見てとれて企画・運営者冥利に尽きました。
難しい環境の中でのご参加ありがとうございました。房総がいかに広くて深くて魅力的か少しでもお伝え出来たら嬉しく思います。また近いうちにお会いしましょう！

気持ちのいい3連休でしたね。天気予報はバラつきがあるものの概ね良好。ショートコースは埋まってしまいましたがロングコースはまだ若干余裕があります！ロングコースは本当に走っていて楽しいです！お申し込みは25日の午後5時までです。

Our next tour, planned on December 6th will be postponed due to the worsening situation of COVID 19. We were planning to visit small rural villages and judged it not appropriate to visit them considered the huge risk. We will conduct this tour once the situation settles down.

Our next tour is December 6th. It will be a tour riding eBikes and climbing a small mountain. You will visit a temple and shrine. You will learn about manners and history. ②木更津焼きそば。皆さん、木更津が焼きそば激戦区であることをご存じですか？その中で知名度の高い木更津焼きそばさんも出店してくださいます。こってりソースではなく、さらりといただけるソース焼きそば。ソースが染み込んだ天かすがまた美味しいです。

What a nice day it was today for Kamogawa satoyama riding! We picked oranges, made thick sushi rolls, and visited terraced rice paddies riding eBikes. There is another tour on Dec. 6.
