Costa Rica 🇨🇷 📍Nicoya Peninsula
Dec 2023
Our first 72hrs -
Our flight landed in San Jose international Airport at 5pm 23 Dec and we jumped in a taxi outside and headed to the Bus station in San Jose for the next stint of our journey to the port town Puntarenas on Costa Rica’s Gulf of Nicoya.
Attempting to use our embarrassingly dusty Spanish, we managed a broken conversation with our driver who confirmed we had infact instructed him to the wrong bus station and we now had less than an hour to board the last bus to Puntarenas at a station the other side of the city! We made it in time to the CORRECT bus station (thanks Henry, you legend)!
We finally arrived at our hotel for the night after a 2.5hr bus ride, equating to an exhausting 21 hours of travel and fall into a deep sleep until our Ferry crossing the next morning…
Christmas Eve morning, we take a 30minute walk to the port and jump on board a Ferry that takes us on a 1 hour crossing from Puntarenas to the Nicoya Peninsula.
We then grab a taxi to this absolutely stunning Eco Boutique Hotel on a hillside, surrounded by incredible views of the pacific coastline, jungle and wildlife… Hawks, Hummingbirds, Howler Monkeys and beautiful birds and butterflies to name just a few! 😍
