Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of Management Accounting services to a diverse range of clients, ensuring that all tasks are completed in line with agreed procedures, quality and deadlines. This role involves supporting the development of a team of trainees and bookkeeping staff ensuring work is delegated effectively and completed in line with deadlines. The successful candidate will possess strong technical and analytical skills and be an effective and persuasive communicator and use their training and professional experience to develop and enhance the existing standards and procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities

Ensure timely preparation of all accounts and other Management Accounting reports within agreed deadlines.
Ensure balance sheet substantiation and reconciliation for all clients and troubleshoot areas of concern, managing client expectations and identifying and implementing corrective action.
Support training staff ensuring that the Department’s objectives are achieved.
Develop and maintain a good working relationship with clients and colleagues.
Give any necessary advice on Management Accounting issues to ensure that the Financial Controller, Client Delivery Manager and trainees understand issues.
Ensure detailed process and procedure manuals are in place for clients and regularly updated and monitor trainees adherence to these.
Maintain an awareness of developments in the field of Management Accounting to ensure the continued provision of a high quality professional service.
Work closely with the Financial Controller and senior accounting staff to keep abreast of client issues and requirements.
Challenge current ways of working, driving change & efficiencies wherever possible.
Ensure the highest standards of work are maintained.
Assist in other technical and administrative areas within the Company as may reasonably be requested.
Ad hoc duties as required from time to time by the Financial Controller and Client Delivery Manager.

Input all necessary Payroll Data for Bank Details, Tax Codes, NI Letters, Court Orders, Student Loans, and Loans.
Calculation and processing of Statutory payments.
Review Payrolls to identify and correct errors and ensure the accuracy thereof.
Run and check the Net Pays and produce payslips and reports.
Fully understand and implement Company Policies and Government Regulations affecting Payroll procedures.
Reconcile, on a monthly basis, allocated Net pay Control Accounts.
Review, on a monthly basis all the Control Reports for the Payrolls as directed by the Payroll Team Leaders.
Assist with the Year End as directed by the Payroll Manager.
Collect and distribute the mail each day and to process the mail for postage.
Deal with verbal queries and written correspondence in a polite and timely manner.
Develop and maintain an effective working relationship with the Operational and other Support Staff.
Undertake any other further tasks / responsibilities as agreed with the Payroll Team Leaders or Payroll Manager.

Person Specification:
Previous accounts/payroll experience.
Accounts/payroll qualification (HND for example).
Ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail in working towards deadlines.
Strong administrative skills.
Ability to communicate effectively within a team.
