HOW TO IDENTIFY A FAKE TRAVEL AGENT….
1. Legitimate travel agents should be registered, licensed, or affiliated with recognized associations in the travel industry. Ask for credentials and verify their validity.
2. Be wary of travel agents offering significantly lower prices than others. If the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.
3. Fake travel agents use high-pressure sales tactics to push you into making immediate decisions or payments. Legitimate agents provide information and let you decide at your pace.
4. A lack of a physical office or an unwillingness to meet in person can indicate a scam. Look for a legitimate business address and contact.
5. Fake agents provide incomplete or unclear terms and conditions, making it challenging to understand the booking or refund policies.
6. Research online for reviews and feedback from other travelers to see if there are complaints or warnings about the travel agent in question.
10. Legitimate travel agents should be able to provide written contracts, detailed itineraries and confirmations for your bookings. If they are hesitant to provide such documentation, it’s time to raise an alarm.
