Home to a Canal Viaduct, a monument of Gerard Manly Hopkins & Moore Abbey Woods among other attractions. With the arrival of the Barrow Blueway, we are trying to bring our passion and love for the canal towpath to everyone. Wouldn't you just love to see Monasterevin become a centre for boats, kayaks and canoes with walkers, runners, cyclists stopping to chat and share stories? And maybe get on a c

anal boat and imagine you're on the canal ways of old watching the turf, grain and Guinness barges passing silently by? What is your dream for our beautiful town and its Moore Abbey Woods and Georgian centre?

Smashing time with “nearly sisters” who came across the sea from Wales and brightened up our days with great laughter. Can’t wait to see them around again 🫶🫶🫶

Yesterday, the first Ride Leader Casual Cycling session started in Monasterevin, led by two recently trained Cycling Ireland leaders, Dennis and Cath.

The meeting point for the first puting was at Monasterevin's SuperValu.

Dennis and Cath led the group out from Monasterevin to Fishermans on this route over 10 km.

It was a really perfect evening for a cycle in our beautiful counties of Kildare and Laois, and the group bumped into another cycling group on the route.
