Welcome to Grove Villa, a newly refurbished country home nestled in the Brecon hills, sleeping up to 14.
The house is 20 minutes drive from the Hay on Wye with direct views to the beautiful 'Black Hill'. It boasts huge inside and outdoor areas and lots of games and activities on site. Perfect for friends, families or couples wishing to be together in nature but also in need of luxury and rest.
Facilities include: generously stocked kitchen, picnic spots, campfire, trampoline, table tennis and darts cabin, huge living room, big sofas, strong showers, comfy mattresses, strong wifi and immense beauty and charm throughout. This is no ordinary holiday home, but a mountainside paradise.
The Villa:
The main property sleeps 12 in a combination of doubles (3 beds), two singles (two beds) and bunks (4 beds).
In the villa there are two living rooms: a huge studio sitting room with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the mountain and a historic oak-beamed sitting room with a handsome woodburner and a TV with all the usual apps.
The house has strong WiFi, a huge and well equipped kitchen and two downstairs bedrooms for those who need to be on one floor - one en suite, one with a shower room next to it - as well as three upstairs, and a third bathroom.
The house is very popular with large groups of family and friends.
Parking space for 4-6 cars.
Additional 2 person cottage:
A small cottage (The Chapel) next door is merely metres away but can be rented in addition. With its own kitchen and bathroom, it allows for some privacy for a couple, but is unsuitable for small children (bedroom is on an open, raised balcony). Grove Villa can be rented with the additional Chapel space. The listed price excludes this space which is available by separate arrangement.
Guest access
With no neighbours to annoy and acres of space to enjoy. It’s all yours to enjoy.
We also have a table tennis cabin in the meadow with darts, football, badminton and a babbling brook that’s always popular with children. Kids seem to disappear to play on the site for hours and days on end.
Activities locally include:
- The historic and famous cultural town of Hay, with its many events, festivals, music, talks and book shops.
- Spectacular hiking for all ages and abilities, horse-riding, canyoning, canoeing, cycling, camping, go karting, shooting, kite flying, scrambling, orienteering, drone flying and all other outdoor pursuits are easy to find nearby
Other things to note
The nearest village shop is 4 miles away in Longtown, so be prepared for your first night and breakfast at least. Supermarkets deliver to Grove Villa (say HR20PL) and dry basics are in our kitchen, which is well stuffed with cooking gadgets. (The fuel is LPG so the oven does cook slower than town gas). Great shops and a large co-op in Hay from early to late - 6 miles.
