Q: Dear Concierge, we’re a couple in our mid-forties travelling to Valletta this February. This is our first trip abroad without our children and we would like to spend a couple of romantic days in Valletta over Valentines. ❤Any suggestions for a four-day visit?

A: Valletta is a great destination for a romantic getaway over Valentine’s Day. This four-day itinerary blends romance, culture and relaxation.

⭐Day 1: Check-in at Malta’s iconic hotel, The Phoenicia, or at one of the quaint boutique hotels in the heart of the city. Take a stroll through Valletta’s iconic streets and enjoy sunset at Hastings Gardens. Enjoy a candlelit dinner at Risette or ION Harbour.
⭐Day 2: Visit St. John’s Co-Cathedral, and admire Caravaggio’s masterpiece, The Beheading of Saint John the Baptist. Head for a light lunch and in the afternoon take a private guided tour of Valletta’s hidden gems or visit the National Museum of Archaeology. In the evening treat yourselves to a romantic dinner at Under Grain, a Michelin-starred restaurant offering a refined and intimate dining experience.
⭐Day 3: Head to a half day tour to Mdina, Malta’s old capital. Leisurely stroll the medieval city known for its quiet, cobblestone streets and historic charm. Visit the Metropolitan Cathedral of Saint Paul, Palazzo Falson, a historic noble private home and Howard Gardens. Head back to Valletta and indulge in a spa treatment for some relaxation and pampering.
⭐Day 4: After breakfast explore the Upper Barrakka Gardens and views of the Grand Harbour. In the afternoon take a romantic dgħajsa (traditional boat) ride in the Grand Harbour before picking up some artisanal gifts or souvenirs from the Valletta Waterfront.

Life and Passion Revisited by renowned Maltese artist Caesar Attard opens its doors on 8th January till 8th March 2025 at Valletta Contemporary! This solo exhibition explores the artist’s unfinished project from 1985, where Attard began a series of religious-themed drawings that later evolved into two sets of etchings. While the first was displayed in 1992, the second set remained unfinished until now. Held in Shanghai, the event was an incredible opportunity to connect with various stakeholders. To further improve our presence in the emerging Chinese market, we’ve launched a dedicated Mandarin-speaking team and appointed an official representative to engage with local partners. This marks a huge step forward in expanding our global reach and tapping into new, exciting opportunities! // In July, Very Valletta had the honour of hosting a lively Maltese Festa on the pier for Atlas Ocean Voyages' World Traveller. Guests were treated to an authentic experience, indulging in traditional Maltese finger foods, enjoying music from a talented local band, and even participating in a vibrant folklore dance. It was a true celebration of Maltese culture, offering visitors an unforgettable taste of the island's rich traditions.
