'Tis the season for crown tipped corals....!
This fungus is so pretty but often not big enough to be worth picking, as they cook down to almost nothing. But.....if you get a nice amount I love to add them to ramen - they're like a mushroom and a noodle in one!

(Make sure you research your corals, not all are good to eat)

Spotted a couple of big dryads saddles today, not surprising after the really heavy rain we've been having.

This guy is a bit too big actually, but I took home a slightly smaller one and will leave the tough centre, and cut off the tender edges for frying.

Also known as Pheasant's Back mushroom because of the lovely feathered pattern, the smell is pretty cool, like faint cucumber or watermelon rind!

Have you seen this tiny plant growing on roadsides, in parking lots, and, probably, in your neighborhood? Very likely you've walked right over it countless times!

This is pineapple w**d, so-called because when you squish the yellow tops, it really does smell like pineapple!

Also called 'wild chamomile' it makes a lovely herby, fruity tea - hot or iced - and the whole plants are great as a herb in dressings, salads, pesto, and infused into syrup!

And the best news? It's not only delicious but a common, invasive perennial so pick all you want (well, all you intend to use, thank you.)
