Friendly reminder that especially during turtle nesting season, to make sure you fill in holes and pick your stuff up off the beach 🏖

Today kicks off the first day of sea turtle nesting season in Gulf County!

Loggerheads, Greens, and Leatherbacks use Florida Beaches to nest and lay eggs. Nesting takes place on our local beaches annually from May 1 – to October 31. It’s incredibly important when visiting our shores to keep the beaches clean, flat, and dark and to Leave No Trace. By raising awareness for sea turtles and making efforts to reduce our own footprint, we can help bring the turtles back! 🐢

Be sure to follow along for updates and do your part this season by:

💡 Using sea turtle-friendly lighting.
⛱️ Don't interfere with nesting or hatching turtles.
🚯 At the end of the day, be sure to take all of your beach gear and trash off the beach.
🕳 Filling in any holes left from digging or playing in the sand.
🦮 Keeping pets leashed
🔇 Only observe quietly and from a distance.

We have been here several times this year visiting or working on the house. This week was the first time using a grocery service and it was amazing!!
