Through surfing, we find our connection with nature, with play, and with the ocean. Surfers are able to tune into the energy of nature in a way that is unlike any other sport, as we are physically riding the moving force of the ocean. As female surfers, we often find ourselves a minority in the line-up, sometimes filled with aggressive, competitive back-paddlers and intimidating crowds. Surfing becomes a mind game, a paddle battle. What we need is more women surfing together to create a supportive line up filled with like-minded women cheering each other on!
While we can make our way in these crowds, together we are stronger. Together we can empower each other, lift each other up, and create a safe space in the water for fun and play. Together, we can remove the competition and encourage each other to get amazing waves and have an incredible time doing so!
