After 18,151 km’s(I won’t mention the fuel cost 😩) & 5 months on the road we are finally home !
Our country is so amazing, get out there & see as much of it as you can. Can’t wait to see more.
Thanks for following our adventures 🥰

She certainly doesn’t get her daredevil skills from me 🫣
📍 SA
A quick skim through SA due to it being peak Xmas period when we travelled.
NYE we spent the night in the most fabulous free camp right by the water in beautiful Sceale Bay just outside of Streaky Bay.
Our last day was spent in gorgeous Mount Gambier, we visited Blue Lake, Umpherston Sinkhole & little blue lake.
Forgot this awesome sunset
📍The Nullarbor
A few sights from the Nullarbor(apart from the endless miles of nothingness) 😂.
Cocklebiddy Cave-once home to the longest cave dive at 6.4km, explored by the same Aussie diver that helped rescue the boys trapped in a Thailand cave. Cave track fiercely guarded by trees full of giant orb spiders(stuff of my nightmares)😬.
Eucla-we visited the remains of the old jetty & telegraph station
After 3 months we farewelled WA ☹️. From the gorges in the North to the spectacular beaches in the South & everywhere in between it’s been a real highlight.
WA sets such a high standard for its free camps & national parks, very RV friendly state.
Free camping at Bunda Cliffs overlooking the great Australian bight was absolutely amazing, cliff top camping at its best.
Unfortunately this means we’re on the way towards home 😭
Why walk the longest jetty when you can jump off it !
📍 Busselton
Home of the Southern Hemispheres longest timber jetty, it extends 1.84km over beautiful Geographe Bay. The underwater observatory at the end was cool, you can walk the jetty or catch the train.
I think the favourite activity here was jumping off the large & small jetty !
So much fun riding through the forest on electric quad bikes. Maci drew the short straw & had to ride with me 😂🌳
📍 Margaret River
So much to see & do here ! Lovely beaches with massive surf & so many caves & stunning wineries. We stayed 2 nights at the lovely Jarvis estate winery, so cool camping amongst the vines. Lovely wines & the limencello was awesome.
Our 2nd stay was at Big Valley campground, a working sheep farm surrounded by beautiful bushland. Lots of animals roaming around, including free range chickens & Guinea pigs 😳, I’ve never seen so many guinea’s(girls loved them)!
Lovely spot would love to return here, winery trip anyone ? 🍷🍷
Gorgeous Hamelin Bay 🥰
📍 Hamelin Bay
Located in the Margaret River region, Hamelin Bay is a stunning area.
It’s most well known for the giant stingrays that inhabit the beach near the boat ramp, waiting for a feed of fish when the fishing boats return.
We were lucky enough to see a few & interact up close with them, another amazing experience.
Cheeky ringnecked parrots, Sienna’s new bestie 🦜😍
Bicentennial Tree 🌳
The highest treetop lookout in the world. 182 pegs will take you to the top platform 65m above the forest floor.
Sienna made it to the 1st platform & Curt & Maci went all the way to the top. Kiara & I kept our feet firmly planted on the ground!
Climbers in a world of pain next day 😂
Would you climb it ??
📍 Walpole
Such a lovely town, surrounded by forests with beautiful big tingle tree’s thousands of years old.
We visited the Valley of the giants treetop walk for a birds eye view of the giant tingles. It also included the ancient empire walk which took you around & through these amazing trees.
This area is also surrounded by beautiful coastline & the lovely Frankland river.
The beautiful colours of Denmark 🥰
Piers jumps were fun until they spotted this big guy 😬
📍 Albany
Heading backwards now, we spent a few nights in Albany. Plenty of things to do & a caravan park right on the beach 🫶
We visited The Gap, a viewing platform that sits right over a gap in the rocks where the waves crash. Natural bridge was also a great spot.
We hiked the Castle rock trail to Granite skywalk, such a challenging steep climb, so proud of the girls making it all the way to the top.
The last part of the climb involved rock scrambling & climbing a 7 metre vertical ladder to the skywalk.
Not going to lie I got halfway up & had to retreat back to solid ground, finally psyched myself up & got to the top.
Amazing view, but certainly not for those afraid of heights 😱
Beach drives
Lucky Bay-Cape Le Grand National park
One word “Stunning” !
Surely this has to be Australia’s most beautiful beach.
We made a mad dash down South to stay at the Lucky Bay campground. It’s hugely popular & hard to find availability.
Kiara has been obsessed with visiting this place, I would have been forgiven if we missed it.
Kangaroo’s hop around the campground & if you’re lucky enough you’ll see them on the beach(not for us unfortunately). You can also drive along the beach, which is always fun.
The weather was pretty ordinary most of our stay, the girls got a swim in on the last afternoon when the sun finally appeared.
Absolutely loved this gorgeous spot 😍
Birds Eye view of Wave Rock
Wave Rock-Hyden
A quick overnight stop in the small but quirky town of Hyden.
Wave Rock was amazing as was Hippo’s Yawn, so astounding how these massive rocks appear in the middle of nowhere. We also climbed The Humps, another cool rock.
📍 Rottnest Island
Great day trip to the island, famous for its gorgeous beaches & of course the cute quokka’s !
We snorkelled at Henrietta rocks home of the Shark shipwreck & Little Salmon Bay, such crystal clear water. We met a few friendly quokkas who were happy to pose for a selfie 😂
The Pinnacles from above
📍 The Pinnacles
A quick visit to the Pinnacles on the way to Perth. Thousands of limestone pillars in one place, it’s bizarre like you’re on another planet !
Jurien Bay 📍
What an amazing experience we had on our trip with Turquoise Safari’s, swimming with the beautiful sealions. These gorgeous creatures were so playful & inquisitive, coming up close & personal to check us out. Sorry turtles & dugongs I think I have a new favourite 😍
The perfect shade of bubblegum pink
Kalbarri
Such a lovely little seaside town, still recovering from cyclone damage caused mid last year. Kalbarri national park was great, 2 parts the coastline area & the river/gorge area. The gorge area has a skywalk that looks over the river/cliffs.
We stayed at Big River horse ranch for a couple of nights & did a trail ride for Maci’s 13th birthday. This was so much fun, riding through the Murchison river & along the sand dunes to the beach, the girls had a canter along the beach while us less confident(me) circled the dunes. We saw kangaroos digging for fresh water, so lucky the horses didn’t bay an eyelid. Of course I had the biggest horse 😱, thanks big Barney for looking after me !

Well we finally found the warmth in Katherine, 36-39 degrees each day 🥵 We visited the Katherine outback experience to get our horse & border collie fix. The things this man could do while riding a horse was amazing. The working dog training was equally impressive. They also do their bit for raising money towards Do it for Dolly/Dollys Dream. A swim at Edith Falls was just the best. Lastly a cruise through the stunning Katherine gorge & a visit to the Cutta Cutta caves was a great way to finish off our visit to Katherine.
