Aloha! Have you ever wondered about the Shades of Green Resort? Meet my parents, the Dynamic Traveling Duo, they just stayed there! They reported that it was LOVELY! This was their second stay there, and they have enjoyed many meals as well at SoG. Their room had a relaxing view, they walked to the Polynesian Resort right across the “street” to have Pulled Pork Nachos and a Burger at the quick-service restaurant Captain Cook’s, and a Dole Whip after (of course!),followed by a spin on the Monorail🌺While we cannot book Shades of Green, we can assist with ticket purchases for your stay. Thank you to all who have served and are serving❤️🇺🇸🌞

This made me chuckle to myself - you don’t have to spend your hard-earned eggs, nor place them all in my basket to visit Disney World! My family has stayed in several Value Resorts, and they were PERFECT for our needs and budget! And if you really like eggs - travel this summer when Disney will give you A DINING GIFT CARD loaded with enough 💰💲💳 to make even Chef Mickey a bit jealous of all the omelets you could enjoy at his buffet breakfast😏🏰✨

We have watched several while “biking” on our spin cycle, and it is an amazing way to not only see the parks and resorts, but also to gain an idea of just how big they are! You can almost smell the popcorn, and hear the Dapper Dan’s on Main Street!

From the questions I receive, most guests over 40, and even some parents of littles, are feeling like all the Magic Kingdom has to offer is Princesses, Dumbo, and balloons…..that’s just not true, there are so many ways to experience Disney!

While the younger crowd is seeking that perfect picture to insure their trip is shared worldwide, and while the slightly older crowd is busy making sure their children are happy, you can run - no, walk in an orderly fashion - to many attractions or simply sit on Main Street and enjoy some popcorn and do Disney at your pace. Here’s 5 things busy guests may miss:

1. Mickeys Philharmagic - a 3-D, seated 12 minute show with some of Disney’s best innovations. Did I mention it’s air conditioned?

2. The American Adventure - join our President’s on an audio animatronic journey and also see some historical artifacts in the lobby. No politics here, just a nice show.

3. Carousel of Progress - an institution at Disney World. Walt’s touches are still alive and well in this seated attraction that rotates through the last 120+ years. And that song will STICK with you!

4. Popcorn, Mickey ice cream bars, and frozen bananas! While Starbucks tries to make coffee even more magical, stop and savor the quintessential treats on Main Street!

5. My favorite - be on Main Street at dusk, when the lights come on, listen to and appreciate the sounds of the park. If you are like me, take a bunch of pictures, and allow yourself to be enamored with the architecture and ambience.

By this time littles and their families have returned to their hotel rooms or are at dinner, and it’s YOUR time to enjoy the thrill of riding a coaster or yes, Dumbo, in the dark or simply eating an ice cream cone waiting for fireworks. Relax and enjoy your evening!

So, I’m old and like Disney!!

I joke, I’m 55 and definitely love Disney! You do too, that’s why you are here! Let’s take a few days to talk about what Disney IS and ISN’T for people over 40ish. One of the biggest misconceptions I encounter every.single.week. is that Disney is for KIDS! I have been asked repeatedly if there is ANYTHING for adults to do!?! My goodness! Is there ever!!!

We’ll start at the Magic Kingdom and work our way around the 4 theme parks, Disney Springs, and 2 water parks this week and try to sweep those misconceptions away! Walt Disney worked hard to create entertainment for guests of all ages, imagineered parks for shared experiences, and most of all a unique “world” where we can all check out of daily life for a bit and have fun🍦🏰✨

Welcome to summer at Disney World! Bring extra shoes, extra umbrellas, and extra hair spray🌧🌂👟👩🏻‍🦳 because you can count on the rain to meet-n-greet you almost daily! This isn’t a bad thing, it dampens the pollen, cools you down, and gives you a reason to stay in the gift shops a while longer😉

Meet Princess Leia the Goldendoodle! This glorious canine has been a part of our family for 5 years, coming from our local animal shelter as an over-excitable 9 month old puppy🤍Part unofficial emotional support/service dog to my chronically-ill daughter, part comforting presence to me, and part plain awesome, we knew she would be worthy of her name! We are a Star Wars family, and are watching nearly 45+ hours of all things Star Wars over the next two days✨✨✨May the 4th be a fantastic day for you all!

I LOVED the Morgan’s Veggie Burger Disney Springs! Made with black beans, white beans, chickpeas, oats, artichokes, roasted red pepper & garlic with cilantro aioli, I couldn’t finish it and got to enjoy it at home for dinner! My son had an great burger on a gluten-free bun with fries, he had no problem finishing it😉 Disney, and their partners, can assist almost anyone with great culinary choices!

One of the most frequent questions I get asked is “What should we do on our arrival day?”. My suggestion, go to Disney Springs and NOT into a park!

If you have spent the day traveling and checking-in to your resort, save your park tickets for the next day when you are well rested and ready to go! Go to Disney Springs by bus or water taxi, eat some great food, shop , visit the Lego store, or go see a concert at the fabulous ! Being locals, my daughter and I saw 25+ concerts there and were never disappointed in the staff, food, or venue! Whether we were seeing the incomparable Tori Kelly, or enjoying a night of Christian Worship Bands, it was always fantastic! offers so much more than shopping🎫

Let’s talk food at WDW! Raglan Road at Disney Springs has some of the best comfort food around with a dash of uniqueness that makes it a local favorite! But what about if you are gluten-free? GO EAT THERE PLEASE!

I had my first ever gluten-free onion rings there and I will NOT eat anyone else’s! Gluten-free herbed batter (no chunky bread crumbs here!) that is incredibly light and irresistibly crunchy covers onions that are fried in a dedicated fryer! These are perfection, and yes, you should have a bit of oil on your fingertips after eating them!

Gluten-free fish and chips are always available as well as at it’s takeaway counter-service space adjacent to the pub. We have had lovely garlic parm fries there, but our favorite will always remain the classic chips, doused with vinegar and salt, or dipped in mayo, or with ketchup😉! Gluten-free is easy as Shepherd’s Pie at Raglan Road and Cooke’s of Dublin, and try a gluten-free Magnus Cider as well on a hot summer’s day🍻or a Bailey’s Milkshake, our next indulgence🧋🇮🇪

I often get asked - what is it exactly that you do as a Disney Vacation Planner? How much do you charge? Are you a travel agent? Can you get me discounts on Disney prices?

So, what the difference is between a Vacation Planner and a Travel Agent? A Disney Vacation Planner is someone who LOVES Disney and wants YOU to have the BEST experience there possible! We work to make sure the stress of planning your first, or 15th, vacation is 100% taken off of you and we do the work! We get up early and book your dining, we get that Savi’s Workshop reservation, we monitor your reservations for any better packages and rebook them for you - and a host of other things! We suggest oodles of things, or simply step back and let your family have a casual vacation! Sharing my love of all things Disney, Disney food, and special needs/special diets is my happy place!

What don’t I do? I am not a travel agent, but I can book outside of Disney and Universal at Good Neighbor resorts, as well as with other resorts and cruise lines. We do not discount prices, we work with official Disney and Universal pricing, ticketing, and packages only. I cannot assist you with dining reservations, or be paid privately to do so, if you are not booking a full vacation with me. I work for a LOVELY agency that supports training and travel, but we do have guidelines to be followed.

And that all-important question - Do I have to pay you? Absolutely not! Our services are complimentary with a booking through The Vacationeer! Of course we are compensated per package, through official Disney and Universal channels, and we are commission-only. If you engage my services and choose not to book, no worries, I will help the next guest and have a magical day! Everyone is treated with the same attention and courtesy, no matter what your budget is!

The next question most asked is: When is it the least crowded at Disney?

This is a tricky question, we are living in a post-covid world and everyone is hungry to travel again. We are seeing people inquire for vacations over a year and a half ahead. With a steady stream of guests, Disney and Universal may continue to be booked with a higher guest list than ever before. I suggest not waiting for the “perfect time” to take that vacation, and I cannot guarantee that any theme park will not be crowded in what was known as an “off-season”, it just doesn’t exist anymore.

If you have a special needs family member, a large party, or different needs, I can always suggest different times of the year that are best for you. We can work together to create an itinerary that works for you no matter what time of year that you go!

20/03/2022

Hello from 4 of the Walt Disney World Resorts! The second most frequent question that I get asked is: “Why should I stay at a Disney Resort when offsite hotels are less expensive?”

There are some very good reasons, learned by (ahem) personal anecdotes, shared vacation planner stories that don’t end quite as magical as we would like, and Disney itself has some pretty solid reasons!

My top three reasons for staying at a Disney Resort would be:

1. I treat your finances as I do my own. I want to save you money! Sure, saving $300 in total by staying offsite looks great on paper! But as you add in parking fees at hotels, parking fees at the theme parks, theme park shuttle fees (very few are free), and other expenses, Disney Resorts start to look a little less expensive.

2. I also look at the way it may affect your family! Hopping on a monorail, ferry boat, or bus at the end of a long day at the parks with your family is the MOST convenient way to get to your room, your shower, and your little ones (or your own!) beds quickest! It also saves you an HOUR or more in the morning! You can catch a bus or Skyliner every few minutes during peak hours. (That’s some valuable sleep time for my family). Scheduling a shuttle from offsite means you have very little flexibility in your day, most shuttles run until a certain time and then you just Uber or taxi it back. Not a very magical night.

3: THE RESORTS ARE AMAZING! From Buzz Lightyear at the All-Star Movies Value Resort to the life-sized gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian Deluxe Resort, they are truly a character brought to life! You can spend an entire day at your resort, eating amazing food and swimming in vibrant pools! And since you are paying for your resort amenities, you should use them!

Consider it, message me, dream a bit🌺

12/03/2022

The question that I am asked multiple times a day is “When is the best time to go to Disney in terms of crowds and weather?”

And each time, I answer “it depends on a lot of things”, which then begins a conversation about needs, preferences, budgets, and the ages of everyone in a guest’s party. We then discuss resorts, schedules, dining, and tickets. A lot of experience goes into making recommendations for each of my guests, and while we cannot guarantee low crowds or no Florida “heatmidity”, vacation planners do so much more than simply find resorts and pricing!

Is anyone ? ? ? If you are wondering where you can experience a charming and one-of-a-kind dessert like this, the answer is Disney! I know!!!

is where this spectacular dessert was served to my very surprised and thrilled daughter🌺It may not be their legendary bread pudding, but it goes down as one of her top 5 Disney special-diets desserts! How do you get this magnificence on a plate? Each location and each chef runs their kitchen as uniquely as restaurants outside of Disney, and while not guaranteed, they will always try to go above and beyond a scoop of dairy-free ice cream. Of course, if that’s your thing, it’s VERY good🍨

every day, in every way!

Happy March! Let’s talk Christmas for a moment🎅🏼Disney Parks are decorated splendidly, taste plates from holidays around the world abound at EPCOT and California Adventure, and resorts offer amazing sights and sounds unique to their theme🎄Did you know that Disney Resorts guests can book vacations up to 500 days in advance? And you thought Christmas shopping in September was early…..we are seeing resorts full up quickly for this holiday season. Don’t wait too long to insure you get to see your favorite tree out of the 1,300+ that are up from November to January🎄Which is my favorite? Every.single.one.😍

Frontera Cocina at Disney Springs has what is, without any question, one of the best versions of guacamole ever! Bacon Guacamole. You read that correctly. Crispy bacon atop a mixture of avocados, pepitas, cilantro, onion, and tomatillos take this over the top! I’m sure it’s supposed to be a shareable appetizer, for me it was a meal🥑 suggests reservations, but also accepts walk-up guests as space allows and has a take-out taco window🌞
