Last week, the Go! Running Tours Munich team took on the track at the Adizero Summer Games, and what an experience it was! We jumped into the 800m, 1500m, and 3000m distances, plus a super fun 4x400m relay—despite being total track newbies. It was all about challenging ourselves and having fun together!
The event was more than just races; it was about community. Runners of all levels came together, cheering each other on, and the energy was absolutely contagious. And yes, we even braved a thunderstorm during the 3000m!
Whether it was under the blazing sun or through the storm, we gave it our all. It’s moments like these that remind us why we love running: it’s about the camaraderie, the cheers, and those unforgettable memories.

Like many locals, we love spending time along the river Isar, whether it’s running, walking, or relaxing. The Rosengarten is one such hidden gem. This 4500 square meter garden offers a calm oasis in the middle of the city. With over 8500 roses in more than 200 varieties, the Rosengarten is a paradise for flower lovers. There are various themed gardens, such as the scent garden and the tactile garden, as well as a fenced-off poison garden. Despite its entrance being right next to the busy Isar cycle and walking paths, it’s surprisingly quiet, with plenty of benches and chairs to relax on.
Join us on a running tour to discover more of Munich’s hidden treasures. We know all the best places to explore!

Have you noticed something odd about the tower of the Alter Peter?
It has eight clocks. But why?
The Alter Peter is Munich’s oldest parish church dating from the 12th-century. The church was also the first to have tower clocks.
There have been four clocks on each face of the tower since 1381 so that the time could be seen from each direction. When a new dome was added to the tower in 1621, four additional clocks were simply added as decoration.
I think we prefer Bavarian comedian Karl Valentin’s explanation, though…Eight clocks allow eight people to tell the time simultaneously!
