This week I’m in Venice, last week was Athens and Crete and the week before, Paris. Figuratively, of course but a European state of mind feels nice nonetheless.

Paris is always a good idea, particularly for a babymoon.

It has been a minute since I’ve been here on the Woven grid but we are back in business. Behind the scenes I’ve been helping friends (old and new) plan upcoming trips and it’s been so refreshing getting back in research and planning mode!

We’ve moved, received our shipment, enjoyed an Okanagan summer and this week, the kids started school. It’s been a whirlwind but we’re coming out the other side and I’m starting to dip my toes back into Woven.

BIG NEWS
After 7 years in the UAE and 13 years overseas, my family will be relocating to Canada!
Over the next couple of months we’ll be packing up life in Abu Dhabi and settling into a new city and home in Kelowna, British Columbia.
Woven Travel will be moving with us but I will be taking a few months off during the transition. I am taking on a limited amount of clients now so if you’ve been thinking about booking, you have 2 weeks to do so with the possibility to schedule well into the future.

December in Abu Dhabi is incredible. The weather is so lovely, the skies are blue and holiday spirit is everywhere.
The UAE maybe doesn’t come to your mind as a ‘Christmas Break’ destination but it’s the best time of the year here. It’s so great that we actually avoid travel during the holiday season just to soak it up.

It’s been quiet on this end with a lot of planning going on behind the scenes. I’ve been researching trips for others around Africa, Japan, Philippines, Indonesia and my own trip to Vietnam.
I’m equally excited for my clients and myself as we head out on some grand adventures. Do you have any travel plans this winter?

Travel Bucket List
Do you have one?
Personally, I’ve never kept one. Each time we’ve moved we have a bit of a priority list of places we’d like to see while we’re in the area but that list often shuffles and shifts depending on wants, needs, budgets and new inspiration.
Funny enough, often the places we might not have considered earlier turn out to be the standouts. Case in point, Jordan, pictured here.

Is there anything better than a beautiful hotel?
Pictured here is the Waldorf Astoria Trianon Palace in Versailles. I booked it for my 30th birthday and remember it being so luxurious. We’ve been pretty spoiled the last 6 years in the UAE but that hotel in France was a turning point for me.

Hello from my homeland.
My family and I have driven over 2000 km across 3 provinces and we’re not done yet.
After 3 long years away, we’re loving the fresh air, greenery, beautiful vistas, walking, hiking and playing outdoors, and of course, reunions with friends and family.
Where have you been in July? Whether it’s a long awaited trip or something close to home, I hope July has been lovely for you.

Airbnb or Hotel?
There are a lot of people who are passionately on one side or the other. I have tended to migrate from hotel to rental and back again depending on the season of life we are in. For awhile, I couldn’t fathom why anyone would pick an apartment over a boutique hotel…and then I had a toddler. Now that my kids are a bit older, we’ve been enjoying hotels again. Priorities shift, things change and there are positives and negatives with either. The key is finding the best option FOR YOU at the stage you are in.
I’m curious? What do you tend towards?
