On the 100th anniversary of the unification of Pest and Buda a very special statue had been built on the Gellért Hill.⁣

The monument features the two towns of Budapest (Buda and Pest) in the form of a prince and princess.🤴👸⁣

Here you can observe how the Prince of Buda and Princess of Pest are trying to reach each other hands above the Danube which is symbolized by the narrow space.⁣

A wonderful panoramic view of Buda Castle can can be seen from the statues.

WHEN IS THE BEST SEASON TO VISIT BUDAPEST? 🇭🇺⁣

In general there is no designated “best time” to visit Budapest, but there are certain months what are preferable to tourists than others.🤗⁣

All of our traveling habits and traveling reasons are different.⁣

Some of us travel to Budapest to learn more about culture, attend festivals, or to get local experience.⁣

So, depending on your travel reasons here’s a short month on month guide to help you make a better decision before you plan your trip to Budapest:⁣

👉A trip in 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥-𝐌𝐚𝐲 is a perfect season for sightseeing trips and walking tours. In these months you’ll feel the fresh spring breeze and the glossing nature🌸 in the city.⁣
The weather is pleasant and you won’t have to deal with thousands of tourists on the streets.⁣

👉During the summer months between 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 prices get the most expensive and you can expect plenty of tourists all over the city. Summer months are ideal for those who enjoy hot weather and don’t mind the crowd.😎🌞 Make sure to have some time to relax, enjoy a cold drink and also you could even attend a summer festival.⁣

👉𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 is on of the best season to visit Budapest. The weather is fine, and the colours of fall amazes all visitors.🍂🍁⁣
The summer season begins to close, the lines are shorter, crowds are smaller, and you can find accommodation on lower prices.⁣
This is a perfect time for extensive sightseeing and hiking in the Buda Hills. ⁣

👉𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 is the beginning of the holiday season.☃️❄️ The most beautiful Christmas markets and panoramic ice skating rinks are opening in mid November.⁣
In these months you can discover the magical winter season while drinking mulled wine under the glorious Christmas lights.⁣

👉From 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 the months are the coldest and their not the best time for extensive sightseeing. You can enjoy ice skating on the City Park Ice Rink or hike to the Buda Hills.⛸️🛷⁣
In this time of year the city is often covered snow so you can try many snow-based activities.⁣

📍Overall, whenever you decide to visit Budapest it is guaranteed you’ll have the best experience.⁣

INTERNATIONAL TOURISM IN BUDAPEST – what to expect in the long run?⁣

The appearance of the coronavirus pandemic has certainly put local tourism in a difficult position in Budapest. 🇭🇺⁣

As Budapest’s service providers - like hotels and restaurants located in the city centre - were mostly visited by foreigners,⁣

👉guest traffic decreased significantly. ⁣

But the good news is, that 𝐁𝐮𝐝𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐬𝐭 ⁣
𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐮𝐬 𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜.⁣

Returning international tourism as soon as possible is still in focus.⁣

In the past few months, companies have completely prepared themselves with⁣

👉implementing hygiene standards,⁣
👉touchless payment and⁣
👉flexible cancellation policies.⁣

The Hungarian government intend to put everything in place in Budapest’s tourism sector for a fresh start.⁣

Hopefully, guests and visitors will be able to enjoy the “golden age” of Budapest’s tourism again.❤️🇭🇺⁣

3 LOVELY REASONS TO VISIT BUDA CASTLE QUARTER⁣ 🏰❤️

Buda Castle Quarter is one of my favourite places in Budapest. With its historic, romantic and medieval atmosphere, it is one of the most pleasant area in the city.⁣

Here are 3 reasons why you should definitely visit this part of Budapest.⁣

👉𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰𝐬: there are plenty of places where you can see the city from different angles. ⁣

Climb the stairs of the tower of 𝐂𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐝𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐚 or 𝐂𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐚𝐬.⁣

Not many people know, but you can also see a wonderful view from the dome of the 𝐇𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐲 as well.⁣

👉𝐂𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐇i𝐥𝐥: did you know that an old cave system is located under the area of Castle Hill?⁣

This underground system served different kind of purposes during history, it sheltered many people in World War II and also operated as a hospital.⁣

Most parts of the caves are only accessible for specialist, but some sections can be discovered by visitors too.⁣

You can take a guided tour in the 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐮𝐦 or explore the 𝐁𝐮𝐝𝐚 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐲𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐡.⁣

👉𝐏𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐪𝐮𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐝𝐞: the most and romantic in Buda Castle is the 𝐓ó𝐭𝐡 Á𝐫𝐩á𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐝𝐞.⁣

Not only tourists enjoy strolling along this walkway but also locals often spend their afternoon walking their dog or playing with their kids.

BUDAPEST SIGHTSEEING WITH PUBLIC TRANSPORT – the most scenic route line in the city⁣

Sightseeing in Budapest can be interesting also by traveling around the city with public transportation. 🚋🇭🇺⁣

Who said that traveling by tram can’t be fun?🚃😁⁣

WHY BUDAPEST IS GREAT IN THE FALL⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Probably we might not get to travel to Budapest this season, but hopefully we will be able to enjoy the city’s experiences next fall. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
To give you some inspiration why fall is the best season to visit Budapest, I’ve collected the main highlights of Budapest in the fall. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
🍁 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫: Sipping hot tea🫖, walking hand in hand with your partner and having picnic on a nice autumn afternoon. Sounds great to do, right? ⁣⁣
Well, Budapest has it all, especially in the autumn season. ⁣⁣
Light winds🍂, warm weather and sunny days what characterizes the city in this time of year.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
☀️ 𝐏𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐪𝐮𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐬: There is no better idea than a day trip to Buda Hills to experience the amazing shades of autumn. The gorgeous fall colours and the calm spell of weather will leave you speechless. This is the perfect season for taking beautiful photos of nature.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
🚶𝐄𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧: Enjoy smaller crowds and shorter lines. However Budapest is a frequently visited city throughout the hole year, the number of arrivals definitely decrease in October and November. ⁣⁣
Autumn is the best season to experience Budapest like a local.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
🌰 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: Explore local Farmer’s Markets where you can choose from a wide selection of season offerings. From fresh autumn fruits🍐🍏 and vegetables to spices, you will find every ingredient for a healthy snack or a simple dish. ⁣⁣

❗CORONAVIRUS UPDATE – Brief summary

During the last week I have been keeping up with the latest news on Hungary’s coronavirus updates.

Today, I would like to share a brief summary on the latest restrictions and happenings.

👉 Starting September 1, foreigners except foreign nationals with Hungarian residency, who are treated as Hungarian citizens) are only allowed to enter Hungary if it’s absolutely necessary. (For example: business trip, family occasion, school etc.)

👉 V4 citizens (Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia) who previously booked trips to Hungary may enter the country with one negative coronavirus test.

👉 Transit through Hungary is possible, provided travellers do not leave the designated transit corridor and leave Hungary within 24 hours of entry.

👉 The Hungarian government intent on avoiding second lockdown in order to preserve the country’s economy and society. This means that the government does not intent to implement a lockdown similar to strict measures taken in the spring.

👉 However, it’s still vital for everyone to maintain a distance of 1.5 meters and cover their face in shops and on public transport within Hungary.

👉 Budapest’s Liszt Ferenc International Airport has implemented new rules for passengers entering the country following the government's new coronavirus travel restrictions. For detailed info please read more on https://www.bud.hu/en/covid_19

👉 Hungary’s border closures will be reassessed at the end of September.
