Survey shows the top 5 countries South Africans are looking to move to
Johannesburg, South Africa – The first public expo to take place in South Africa in over a year, opened its doors yesterday in the heart of Sandton City shopping centre. Families, entrepreneurs, students, job seekers and more have been in attendance to find the answers to their questions around all things emigration. A survey by The Emigration Expo has revealed some interesting facts about what some South Africans are planning.
Of all the locations South Africans are looking to emigrate to, it was the UK, Australia, USA, Portugal and Malta that are receiving the most interest, with Canada and New Zealand following closely behind.
The city where most South Africans are emigrating from is Johannesburg, followed by Pretoria, Cape Town and Durban.
It was found that most foreigners immigrating into South Africa are from the UK and other African countries.
The Emigration Expo, which is taking place in Sandton City, Johannesburg, runs till 8 p.m. on Saturday 1 May has received interest from all walks of life. Hundreds of visitors from young students looking to study overseas all the way to retirees looking for a new place to settle down and enjoy retirement have been in attendance so far and the number of visitors on Saturday is expected to be high.
The Emigration Expo is free to attend and is a must for anyone planning to move abroad temporarily or permanently.
Within Sandton City, the access-controlled expo is held in a Covid-19 prepared space with protocols in place allowing visitors and exhibitors to comfortably discuss emigration opportunities in a safe environment.
