Opening a bank account in Bali is pretty straightforward โ but it really depends on the kind of permits and which bank you choose.
There are two options: Without KITAS, and with KITAS.
Opening a bank without KITAS: Limited Tourist Account. Usually you only need your passport to open this account.
Opening a bank with KITAS: Unlimited Balance Expat Account and Special Balance Expat Account. Your passport, temporary residency permit (KITAS) or KITAP, and evidence of residence in Indonesia are required. In some cases, you may be asked to provide additional documentation such as a letter of recommendation from your employer, passport-size photographs, a bank certificate issued in your home country of origin, an existing debit or credit card, a residence contact number, and a letter of domicile.
