April Tasking Update:

04/04/2023 - The team were tasked to an overturned dinghy in larne harbour. Upon arrival on scene we established the casualty had just made it back to shore safely. HM Coastguard Larne were on site to provide care.

08/04/2023 - The team were tasked to a RHIB with engine difficulties. Larne RNLI and Bangor RNLI were also in attendance and escorted the vessel safely back to port.
08/04/2023 - 2nd tasking of the day had the team heading to another vessel with engine troubles. Once again the vessel was guided safely back to port.

22/04/2023 - The team along with HM Coastguard Larne and rnli were tasked to a missing person in Carrickfergus. No more info will be provided.

23/04/2023 - Portmuck, Bangor and Portaferry CRTs along with Bangor RNLI were tasked to a female who had fallen badly on the rocks at Greys Point. The casualty was given medical attention, and passed over to the NIAS for further treatment.

Training:
This month we spent some time going through Coastguard Emergency Rescue Casualty Care (CERCC). This involved numerous scenarios were casualties were treated and packaged to facilitate handover for further assessment.

We also spent some time on SAR skills, which included the reading of and understanding maps, bearings, grid references etc. This is all vital knowledge and skills required to carry out a comprehensive Lost & Missing Persons (L&MPs) tasking.

Community Partnership:
A session was facilitated for the new employees responsible for the guided tours on the Gobbins Cliff Path. This has a long established working partnership and provides information on what would be expected should we get called to an incident on or around the cliff path.

Why not treat yourself to all the fun of the Victorian Street Fair and stay in one of the oldest cottages in Whitehead. No.1 TheTerrace was built C.1895 but has been totally refurbished in 2022. A little bit of history and luxury mixed!

Hi, we're Keith and Jane and we're thrilled to be able to share No. 1 The Terrace with you all! We were both born and bred in Whitehead and loved every minute of our childhood in the town, so it's been our dream to share this idillic little piece of Northern Ireland with the world (as long as you keep it a secret! 🤫🤣)

I (Keith) thought I could turn this round in 6 months, but as with everything worthwhile, it took longer than expected and we ran into a few issues along the way. That said, we think the wait has been worth it as we now have a fantastic holiday home with an outstanding finish for you to relax and enjoy your stay in Whitehead. Whether you are home visiting family or here for the first time, No. 1 The Terrace offers everything you need and more!

We're excited to share our journey so far on this page and you will be able to follow us from the beginning through months of hard work to end up with a beautiful home for you to come and experience!
