Unpopular Opinion according to every blog post I read about Sydney, Australia: I think Bronte Beach is better than Bondi Beach.

All of the blog posts and resources I studied before our trip to Australia had Bondi Beach at the top of every must do activity and really put it on a pedestal.

The problem? The authors of these resources didn't know my travel style.

Have you heard of St. Kitts? If so, do you know much about it?

This island is a hidden gem of the Caribbean and offers very similar vacation styles as Hawaii. It's best suited for those who do not want an all-inclusive because they would rather immerse themselves in the island culture and lifestyle.

St. Kitts offers historic experiences in Basseterre (the main city), hiking in the lush rainforests, or relaxation on the untamed beaches. It's very easy to rent a car and self explore around the island. It's also a quick ferry ride from Nevis, giving you even more to explore.

Last year we made the choice to withhold buying each other gifts at Christmas or Birthdays and instead put that money towards siblings trips together. This year we made it halfway across the world to the Whitsundays, Australia.

Is it a challenge to match up schedules - yes.

But it's SIGNIFICANTLY easier to do when planned a year or more in advance.

We have already locked in our 2024 trip and currently working on 2025.

"Ohhh look at meee, I'm gonna go touch the butt!" - Finding Nemo 😎

Being able to lay a hand on Uluru, a UNESCO World Heritage site in Australia, was definitely a core memory.

If I am being completely honest, I don't think this will be possible for future generations because not everyone understands how to respectfully treat a sacred site.

I am thankful to have prioritized our travel while we still had the chance to do so.

Gibson Steps - A stop along the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Australia which, as you can see, has pretty epic rock formations that look even more drastic in person.

In all honesty, that is all I know about this place 😂 If we would have chosen to do a guided tour of the GOR, we would have been filled with historical knowledge about it, but that wasn't our goal.

There are 3 types of resorts: Adults Only, Family Friendly, and Family Friendly but with an Adults Only Section

In general, Adults Only resorts are going to more expensive because they are more sought after since they have an added luxury with no littles running around (sorry kiddos!).

A cheat code is to instead book a Family Friendly resort that has an adults only section. This will give you the perk of having *some* amenities without kids but at the family friendly price point.

Scuba Diving the Great Barrier Reef was iconic - BUT - it wasn't what we had planned.

This experience was supposed to be with our siblings but we mistakenly put "all of our eggs in one basket" and we missed our opportunity for a sibling scuba dive trip in Australia due to circumstances out of our control. HOWEVER...

This is exactly why I travel. You can rest assured that I have been there and done that so your travels go even smoother than my own. 😎

Of all the Hawaiian Islands, The Big Island is the most diverse when it comes to weather and nature because the island features 4 out of the 5 major climate zones in the world and 8 out of 13 of the sub-zones!

Nick and I have been together for 15 years and we have been married for 7 of those years.

For those who have been in long relationships and living with your partner, you know how easy it is to get into a mundane rhythm and essentially become roommates.

Most recently Nick and I have been “ships in the night” because our travel schedules are opposite so as he is picking me up from the airport, I’m turning around and dropping him off the next day.

How do we break up the routine or work through these busy seasons of life?

We intentionally plan out and prioritize vacations together.

Back in February, we booked a cruise for this October. A full week where there are no work distractions, no dog distractions, just us doing what we love - exploring the world together.

Did you know...

Only around 10% of Kauai is accessible by car && even more crazy, a significant portion can't even be reached on foot!

So how you are you supposed to explore this island?

Helicopter! Hands down this is THE best island for a helicopter tour, followed by a boat tour, and exploring by foot.

But how are you supposed to know which helicopter company is the best for your trip? That's easy - trust me to narrow down the options.

One of the questions I ask during your complimentary Dream Vacation call is "Are you more of a beach person or a pool person?"

If the answer is beach, I then follow up with "How often are you actually getting in the ocean?"

The latter question is vital because there are STUNNING resorts on BEAUTIFUL beaches but the ocean waves are so rough that you can't swim in it.

That's something you won't find listed on the resort's website.

I lost count of how many beaches we visited when exploring Maui but of all the beaches, Wailea Beach was our favorite in terms of relaxation.

The sand has almost a clay texture to it, making it super soft and being in a cove-like area, the water was fairly calm. There is also a small coffee shop just steps from the beach - what more could you ask for?!

Do you prefer a more active or chill beach day?

The experience of having a private helicopter transfer from the main island of Nadi to your resort island is 👩‍🍳💋

Also how cool is it that the staff of the resort is excited and ready to greet you when you land?!

Does anyone else fall more in love with your person every time you travel or experience new things together?? Because I do every. single. time.

At home, Nick and I spend 80% of our time either working or talking about work and honestly, that might even be low ballin' it.

But when we travel ... there is a shift. We are no longer in the same mundane routine.

Our eyes are focused on each other instead of screens.
Our conversations go beyond "how was your day".
Our Fun Love shines through. (hence our mirror selfies from Sydney, Australia)

The "Wow 😲" factor when you first step onto the resort property is my absolute favorite part of ever resort I tour or stay at.

Secrets Bahia Mita Surf & Spa Resort hits you with the double wow factor because you have the ability to see both ocean and mountains from their resort and it's 😍😍😍.

BUT - you guessed it - this resort is not made for every traveler.

If you are obsessed with being able to get off property and explore incredible towns and local shops nearby then you will LOVE it here.

If you are looking to spend all day every day on the world's greatest beach, well... let's maybe look at other options.

If you have the ability to work remotely - go to Australia - like now. In just about every city we visited there was free city-wide wifi. This photo is not staged, I was actually making a booking for honeymooners to Hawaii in the middle of Brisbane's busy streets.

My husband and I are both entrepreneurs so it's not the easiest to completely step away from work while on vacation. We did have a sim card but the easy access to free wifi made our data last so much longer.

&& in between work emails, we were living our best Australian lives. 🐨🦘🫶

When you haven't traveled to a destination, it's common to ask the question,

"Is it safe?"

I am an enneagram type 6, and for those that don't know what that means, it is a personality type that thrives on feeling secure. In every situation I have a plan A, B, CDEFGHIJK...you get the point.

For my travelers that want to experience the Caribbean but also need an extra cushion of security, I offer vacation destinations such as Cap Cana. This is a gated community located in the Dominican Republic where every single driver going in must give security their ID and then it is returned to them once they leave.

The locals refer to this area as the "Beverly Hills" of Punta Cana.

I push myself out of my travel comfort zone so that when you ask, "is it safe?" I can respond with first-hand experience and teach you how to overcome your travel fears.

Probably the most attractive picture I've ever taken.

I have done quite a few snorkel trips over the years in various destinations. I am generally the person who gets in the water for 10 minutes, sees what I need to see, and then gets back in the boat for snacks.

Snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef was unlike any other snorkel experience. I was captivated by species of fish I had never seen before and mesmerized by coral that swayed with the ocean.

I ended up being one of the last people to get back on the boat!

If you had expectations of staying at a resort with stereotypical beautiful Hawaiian beaches, you'd be pretty upset when you checked in here.

As we chatted before, every Hawaiian Island has its highlights and the Big Island is not known for its beaches - actually, that's false, they are known for their unique beaches, like black volcanic sand, but not the award-winning beaches that Maui has.

The Big Island, also known as the Island of Hawaii, is perfect for those seeking a range of landscapes, from lava deserts to snow-capped peaks, or those interested in checking out an active volcano.

This cruise line offers ships that hold only 148-312 guests with an almost 1 to 1 crew-to-guest ratio. With the size of their ships, they are able to stop at smaller ports that the larger companies can't get to, providing a more intimate experience both on the ship and at the port.

Seasonal depression is a very real thing and if you are someone who struggles with it, I’ve been there and promise you are not alone.

I lived in the midwest for over half my life and became accustomed to waking up to grey sky’s from around November-February (and that’s being generous).

I think it’s partially why I am so passionate about Island travel and sharing my love for beach destinations with travelers - not because of the beach (major perk) but because of the sun.

I've been asked countless times - "Why should I hire a travel advisor when I can research myself?"

My quick response - This is my job. This is what I do day in and day out. This is what I invest my time and money in perfecting and growing. You could also research how to defend yourself in court, but you'll probably have better luck hiring a lawyer. You could also research how to build a house, but you'll probably have less stress in your life and an overall better outcome if you hire a general contractor who has relationships with reliable suppliers.
