These are the Etruscan city walls of Cortona with a mullioned gate: very interesting and unique in its kind. Please notice that the Etruscan part is only the lowest with the huge stones. It is a pity that the famous gate of the IV century BC was not accurately restored in the past. Thank you for following me today during my "Under the Tuscan Sun - Cortona". 🙏 As promised I show you the famous villa of Frances Mayes. There are a lot of details typical of Tuscan countryside houses. For example, if you look at the very bottom there is a little shrine with a small Madonna! Cypresses, olive and lemon trees, rosemary and other aromatic herbs, all around, very beautiful! 😍

Yesterday it took place "Under the Tuscan Sun" tour in Cortona. Despite the cellphone coverage not very powerful the tour was a great success, thanks to all of you for following me.

This week I propose different destinations in Tuscany and at the Cinque Terre: 6 in total! There is a new entry thu May 13th: San Quirico d'Orcia. I lived there for 7 years and it will be a pleasure to show you familiar places. 😍

The first is a debut! 😍🎉 I will show you the smallest and the less touristic of the five villages: Corniglia. Located at the top of a promontory, it dominates the whole Cinque Terre Park.

🌞💖 Yesterday ended the fourth program of Armchair Travel with Fabri, since the beginning of this year.💪🥰 It is a dream cultural tour of Italy with interactions between all the participants mainly based on weekly zoom meetings. The success of the last Armchair Travel with Fabri, titled "A breath of Italy" 🎈 is making me think to organize another edition, maybe in few weeks time. Of course, I will communicate here the new program and dates as soon they will be available. The most precious crucifix in Lucca is the “Volto Santo”. It is located in a chapel inside the cathedral and has been venerated since the Middle Ages because believed carved by Nicodemus himself. It is an exceptional work of art and undoubtedly original especially for facial features and skin color.
