A quick update: Lauren feels crummy (physically), but so well loved and cared for by the most wonderful group of humans. The business has grown 50% year over year (FIVE. ZERO!), and we are celebrating that. In so many ways, I couldn't have done it without you. Isn't that just life? The ups and downs are often equally big, and they happen all at once. Thank you for being here. I think 2024 will be our best year yet.

On this day in 1966, Walt Disney recorded a video explanation of his upcoming "Florida Project." At the time, not many people knew that he was gravely ill, and he would pass away only a few weeks later. The first time the video was shown to investors was in February of 1967, after his death. If you're a fan of Disney history, I highly recommend Marty Sklar's books. Marty worked closely with Walt, and has almost certainly worked on a Disney attraction you know and love.

It's a beautiful day for daydreaming about your next vacation, and may I submit for your consideration: Disney's Port Orleans Resort French Quarter. This resort is so charming, much like its sister, Port Orleans Riverside, however it has a much smaller footprint. This makes traveling within the resort and also to the theme parks a breeze, by way of Disney's free transportation.

Join me on YouTube for a tour of a 1 Bedroom Villa, at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. This resort is less than a 10 minute walk from the Magic Kingdom, and offers beautiful views of Bay Lake, so the location is pretty unbeatable (especially if you're traveling with small children). We stayed in this room type for our best vacation ever in September of 2020, and since then it definitely occupies a soft spot in my heart. The room layouts vary slightly based on whether you're facing the interior of the building's curve or the exterior, so this is something to keep in mind when making location requests. The room shown is on the interior of the curve, for reference.

While I enjoy the theme and decor of these rooms, they're definitely in need of a refresh. Fortunately, that's scheduled to happen in 2024! In my opinion, the newest wave of resort refurbishments have been very well done, with an increase in Disney theme/decor in the rooms, as well as better storage and bedding configurations. I'm excited to see what this means for Bay Lake Tower!

Last month I got to stay in the Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. This was a pinch-me, bucket-list stay that I wish could have gone on forever. Our room was beautiful: every finish was luxurious, there were Disney details everywhere, and the view was fantastic.
