The Butterfly 88 owes its name to the pattern that its scales mark on the front of its wings, while on the back they are dark colors with strips of color of a luminous or intense metallic hue of blue or green colors, and in some cases can look pale pink depending on the lighting. This genus is completely neotropical and extends from Mexico to the Amazon and is considered by many cultures as a symbol of good luck.

El Palmar is an incredible place for anyone who loves nature and wildlife. The valley feels incredibly surreal. After driving past countless valleys and mountains, high up in the cool Bolivian Andes, some dry, some with Eucalyptus and Pine forests, you arrive at something entirely different. A valley covered with enormous Architectural Janchicoco palms.

The Pujllay festival is a wonderful festival in the city of Tarabuco (just an hour outside of Sucre, Bolivia).

The festival signifies the harvest season, when the wind plays with the clouds in the sky and the blossoms dance in the fields. The festival begins with a Quechua mass, followed by a marching progression of dancers in costumes.

The Maragua Crater, a strange rock formation a short distance from the capital and one of the most adventurous trips to take from Sucre.

Beyond this example of nature at its most splendid, this region of Bolivia has ancient 2,000-year-old cave paintings nestling in rocky outcrops and dinosaur footprints carved into rocky outcrops. All other shades of rock imaginable makes you wonder if somehow you’ve stepped back into a land forgotten by time.

Sucre is affectionately known as “The White City” because of its stunning collection of colonial-era architecture.

Intricately carved bay windows and terracotta roofs are commonplace in this picturesque region. Charming churches dot the landscape. Many of the churches in the neighborhood have roofs that are open to the public, and the arches of La Recoleta provide one of the city’s greatest vantage points.

Isla del Sol (Island of the Sun) is an island. There are over 80 ruins on the island. Most of these date to the Inca period circa the 15th century AD.

The first Inca Manco Cápac is said to have emerged from a prominent crag in a large sandstone outcrop known as T**i Qala. Manco Cápac is the son of Inti the Andean deity identified as the sun. In one version of the myth, the ancient people of the province were without light in the sky for many days and grew frightened of the darkness. Finally, the people saw the Sun emerge from the crag and believed it was the Sun's dwelling place.
