🎙️ New Episode! 🍷

Today, we explore the “Word of God.” Do you share the belief that the Bible holds the ultimate authority? Or do you see Jesus as the living “Word of God” that John 1 speaks of? We’ll wrestle with these questions and more.

In this episode, we’ll journey through the rich and often paradoxical imagery of the lion and the lamb as presented in Revelation. We’ll contrast the popular expectation of a conquering lion with the profound revelation of Jesus as the sacrificial lamb, the only one worthy to wield God’s power. Along the way, I’ll share insights about making room for a God who can be speechless and what that silence might mean in our own lives, especially in our darkest moments.

We’ll also delve into the tension between desiring a predictable, accessible deity and embracing the wild, unexpected freedom of God. Expect a deep dive into scripture, reflections inspired by theologian Walter Brueggemann, and powerful stories like that of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Plus, I’ll reveal the personal significance behind my tattoo of a sheep with a crown, a subtle nod to my stand against the machismo mantra of “lions, not sheep.”

“Our language is always limited in expressing what we fully experience in savoring a wine. This limitation is especially frustrating when we drink an exceptionally beautiful wine and want to share our experience by describing it. Quite often we are at a loss for words to describe what we taste, feel, and savor: it is often impossible to describe. This reminds us of our even greater inability to capture God’s glory in human terms.” Gisela Kreglinger

🎙️ New Episode! 🍷

In Ep.27 we have Scott M. Coley a philosophy lecturer at Mount St. Mary’s University and author of an intriguing new book.

We explore the spiritual side of propaganda and how it’s used in religious contexts. We tackle some thought-provoking topics, including the oft-heard phrase “I don’t see color,” the loaded concept of “law and order,” and the alarming presence of authoritarianism within the church.

Scott shares his personal journey of faith over the past decade and how his theological commitments have evolved. We also reframe the hot-button issue of evangelical deconstruction, examining it through the lens of decoding the propaganda embedded within the religious right’s ideology.

Join us for this stimulating discussion, which is sure to challenge your perspective and make you think critically about the complex interplay of faith, politics, and social justice.

🌟 NEW EPISODE ALERT! 🌟

Episode 26 of is live! 🍷✨

Today we’re diving into a topic that often stirs deep emotions in the Christian community: fear (and the shame that often follows). We’ll unpack the roots of fear, often instilled by religious leaders, and challenge it with biblical insights from 1 Corinthians.

We’ll also have an honest conversation about the role of fear in religious teachings and how it can shape our beliefs and actions in unhealthy ways. I’ll share personal stories, including an attempt I saw to convert a tough gentleman with scare tactics, and we’ll reflect on whether such approaches truly align with Christian values.

Plus, we’ll explore the notion from 1 John 4 that living in love means living in tune with God and why perfect love expels fear. Join me as we question, reflect, and strive for a faith driven by love, not fear. Cheers!
