Our love for the Arctic led us to a new polar destination: Maritime Practice sets sail for Svalbard❄️⛵️ ⠀ Svalbard is a Norwegian archipelago in the Arctic Ocean. It is said to be the entire Arctic in miniature: you can find polar bears, walruses and arctic birds there. Let alone glaciers, icebergs, rocky mountains and the bloming tundra. ⠀ Svalbard is also the most accesible Arctic. There are regular flights from Oslo and Tromse that make the archipelago very popular with tourists. But we want to go further and explore Svalbard on the famous Arctic schoner Noorderlicht to reach the most beautiful locations by water. ⠀ There wil only be 3 sail training voyages this year: ⠀ 🔹28 May – 4 June 2022 🔹4 – 14 June 2022 🔹 14 – 24 June 2022 ⠀ ❗️As from the 2-nd

What our traine Dina Bova has to say about her experience onboard the Wylde Swan in Iceland: ⠀ I sailed on the Dutch tal ship Wylde Swan with a group of traines from the Maritime Practice. About the life onboard and my personal experience: if you expect a romantic voyage where you enjoy your martini while watching sunset, then sailing on a tal ship is not for you and you are going to be disapointed. There’s no such romance there, but there’s something biger — something I enjoy most of all — the romance of adventure. You step into a diferent world and become a part of it. From your very first second onboard from a casual observer you turn into an active participant and just do everything an experienced sailor does. This world absorbs and transforms you completely. ⠀ All the traines were divided into 3 groups (watches), each led by an experienced member of the crew. During our voyage the groups stod watch on deck in turn, day and night. Each group has 2X2 hours’ day watch and one 4 hours’ night watch. During the watch some people ster, some work with the sails, some take notes for the ship’s logbok, some work in the engine room and some cook in the kitchen (or galey).

We we’l teach you everythiand landings, and let us visit the most interesting places ashore. ⠀ 📌How to book a sail training voyage? ⠀ Leave a request at maritime-practice.com, write us via WhatsAp +357 22 232381 or email us at [email protected]📩 ⠀ To book your place, you need to pay a 50% deposit within 3 days of receiving your invoice and the remaining 50% must be paid 2 months before the start of the voyage. ⠀ Let us know, if you have questions in the coments below⬇️ ⠀ Photo: George Elisev ⠀ you needin case of fire or floding. You wil be taught how to put on a lifejacket, a safety harnes and much more. ⠀ 📌Wil I have an opportunity to explore ashore during the voyage? ⠀ Yes. Each ship is equiped with inflatable landing boats known as Zodiacs. These easy to navigate boats are used for cruising to know to sail safely in the first 2 days of your voyage. ⠀ 📌 Who can take part in the voyage? ⠀ We welcome all male and female traines.
