Couples Trip 2023 | day 8
Oh how we love London! We were the very first people in Westminster Abbey today which was really neat! Afterwards, we toured Buckingham Palace which was only opened to the public this year. The rooms in the Palace were absolutely beautiful and it was so great to experience something for the first time altogether. We then split up to go on our own adventures for the rest of the day - Tower of London, Kensington Palace, Harrods, Parliament, the Royal Mews, the Churchill War Rooms, and the National History Museum. Then we all met up for the grande finale to the trip, dinner at the Aquashard! An incredible meal with even more incredible views.

Couples trip 2023 | day 7
Haworth —>York —>London
Said goodbye to Brontë country and made our way to York for lunch and shopping. York is known for being the Viking capitol of England and The Shambles is also the inspiration for Diagon Alley in Harry Potter.
From York we hopped the train for London! Our night ended on a high note with Phantom of the Opera on the West End 🎵🎭

Made our way to the most charming town -Haworth! Home of the Brontë sisters and stunning views of the Yorkshire moors. We did lots of shopping, hiked the moors, and then got a tour of the parsonage and a background on the church, it’s pastors, and the Brontë family.

Couples Trip 2023 | day 4
Had a wonderfully relaxing day today! Woke up to our last views of Scotland today and after breakfast we hiked the 237 steps to the top of the Wallace Monument and enjoyed picturesque views of Stirling. Then we made our way down to North Umberland and arrived at Matfen Hall. We explored to halls and grounds of this magnificent estate that we get to call home for the next few days and then sat down to an incredible meal together. We are so looking forward to these next few days of rest and quiet (and golf and the spa) together.

Couples Trip 2023 | day 3
Woke up in Inverness and journeyed through the purple-heathered mountains of the Highlands to Eilean Donan castle and Portree for the best fish and chips in the entire world. The rest of the day was spent marveling in the breathtaking views of the Highlands on our trip to Sterling where we are resting for the night.

Couples Trip 2023 | day 2
Woke up in dreamy Rufflets and then took a walking tour with our favorite Scottish tour guide, Hamish. He led us through the Scottish Reformation and in the steps of reformers such as John Knox and Patrick Hamilton. We then had the chance to wander the town and see the Old Course. Then it was a beautiful drive through the heather to Balmoral. After a walk around the gardens we made our way up to Inverness where we are falling asleep to the rush of the river Ness.

Couples Trip 2023 | day 1
We had a splendid first day together wandering the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, exploring the castle, meandering around St. Giles, and walking in the royal’s footsteps at Holyrioodhouse. Then we took a drive up to St. Andrew’s where we enjoyed dinner at one of our favorite hotels, Rufflets!

Haworth views
We left Edinburgh for the beautiful British countryside of Haworth where the Brontës are from. We experienced the cold winds that probably inspired Emily’s writings. A wonderful dinner warmed us back up before we explored the graveyard and told tales of those who were laid to rest there.
