We are growing! We're looking to add a third member to the team as the Downtown Events Manager who will play a critical role in conceptualizing, designing, implementing, and managing events and experiences in Downtown Tallahassee. The position oversees existing, planned, and future events to create foot traffic, sense of place, inclusivity, and economic opportunity. This includes the Downtown Marketplace every Saturday on Park Avenue, the Downtown Concert Series at Cascades Park, Movies in the Park on Kleman Plaza, and many other events and programs that help activate Downtown. We are looking for an individual that is excited and passionate about creating a stronger more vibrant Downtown. .

What a great morning building the First Florida Capitol and building community! There will be volunteer builds for this project led by Habitat for Humanity all summer, and I highly recommend being a part of Tallahassee history as they build a life-size replica of the original log cabin capital from 1824. It will be ready for the public to view and explore this fall in Cascades Park as we continue our bicentennial celebrations. You can watch its progress as it comes together this summer on the west end of Cascades on the site of the old Centenniel Field.

On a little side trip to Tampa this weekend, so I mixed business with pleasure and enjoyed 3 history tours here - Historic Ybor City, a bout tour around Tampa Bay, and a ghost tour in downtown Tampa. I learned a lot and took away some great info for Storied Paths. The EMF readers were super fun…so these might become a new feature for our ghost tours in downtown Tallahassee!
