🚝 Disney’s Famous Monorail System

5 fun Facts:

1- Walt Disney got the idea for the monorail system while on a visit to Germany. He loved it so much he just had to build one at Disneyland. He thought it was the “transportation of the future”

2- Disneyland monorail opened in 1959 as the first operating monorail in the United States- Even the Vice President at the time Richard Nixon was there for the opening ceremony!

3- The Walt Disney World monorail opened in 1971 and has expanded to include 3 different monorail lines to EPCOT, Magic Kingdom, and the monorail resorts.

4- The monorails run on electricity and an automated system with engineers at the front for safety. There are also several different monorail colors including black, red, blue, green, orange, gold and silver! It’s so fun to guess which color is coming into the station!

5- The original “Please, stand clear of the doors,” line followed by its Spanish translation, now a widely quoted Disney phrase, was originally recorded by Jack Wagner who was known as “The Voice of Disneyland.”

The monorail is a must ride every time I go to Disney! It is iconic and truly a- Highway in the Sky!

My clients loved their experience so much last month at Sandals Barbados that they took advantage of the loyalty discount while there and booked Sandals Royal Curaçao for next summer! They were able to transfer the booking back to me so I can still be their agent!

Some Random Obscure Disney Facts!

Ever wonder just how dedicated Disney is to theming and story? 🤔

Liberty Square in Magic Kingdom is set during the colonial times. One thing you might not even be thinking about is that indoor plumbing hadn’t been developed yet during that time period. Restrooms, like the kind we know today, simply didn’t exist. That’s why you’ll notice there are NO restrooms in Liberty Square.

Even the bathrooms in the restaurants in Liberty Square technically fall outside of the boundaries of that land!

History pop quiz!

What does the phrase “one, if by land, and two, if by sea” from American poet Henry W. Longfellow refer to? This was a reference to the secret signal arranged by Paul Revere and his fellow patriots that would serve as a warning during part of the American Revolutionary War. One lantern would mean that the British troops were coming by land, and two meant if they were coming by sea. The British Forces did, in fact, arrive by boat.

Well, if you look up at the windows in Liberty Square, you might just find a spot with two lanterns sitting in the window — representing this point in history.

I learned so much on this trip! We went on multiple tours, stayed in multiple hotels, took multiple forms of transportation such as trains ( including the Eurostar) and subway/ metro/ underground. We ate at a variety of places some with reservations and some without. I would love to help you plan a trip to London/ Paris/ Disneyland Paris/ etc! I also spent a couple days exploring NYC beforehand and can help with a trip there too! 💜

Meet my client Julia! She is a pleasure to work with and even let me send her questions to do a client interview! She address several things in this video about using a travel agent . She specifically went to Walt Disney World and will be speaking about that although in a few she and her husband have a Florida Keys getaway planned as well!

Anastasia rode Prince Charming’s Carousel on the horse right in front of me and had a little trouble getting off! 😂😂😂

Some Sandals resorts offer Cabanas that you can rent for the day! They are $150 ( pricing subject to change ) and come with a butler for the day as well. Your breakfast and lunch are brought to your cabana and you have a cooler stocked full of whatever drinks you like! Your butler will assist you with anything you need throughout the day. This is a great option to splurge on for a day if you do not have butler level room or even if you do but just want the experience of the location! My husband and I decided to give it a try!

Happy New Year everyone!!

✨My goal for 2022 was to travel to as many places as I can that I offer to clients. I wanted recent and personal info so I could better serve my clients. ✨ 🏰I was able to go to Disney World 4 times as well as check out the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and stay at 3 new to me resorts. 🌎I was able to go to Universal Orlando Resort twice and explore it in depth and have now stayed or at least toured all resorts there! 🏰I was able to spend a week in Disneyland and while there explored all 3 resorts that are on property. 🏝I was able to spend a week at Beaches Turks and Caicos and while there was able to do a site tour and view rooms in each of the 5 villages. 🚢I was able to go on the Disney Dream and cruise to the Bahamas and visit Castaway Cay! 🧳I was also able to visit places such as Okaloosa Island, Florida and the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in NAshville, TN where I can book several hotels and resorts. It was a A LOT of traveling this year but my goal was met! I learned SO MUCH valuable information to bring back to help clients have the best vacations possible! Where did you go in 2022?
