On Friday, a Korean disc golfer is challenging me to eat live octopus tentacles. It's called San-Nakji and I just learned that it's important to chew it really well because if you don't, the suckers will grab onto your throat and you can suffocate.

The only reason I want to do it is because Captain Picard ate Klingon Gagh and he's Captain Freaken Picard! I want to be like Captain Freaken Picard.

Would you eat Octopus tentacles that were still alive and moving?

This is the most insane picture in all my travels...

This was taken at the DMZ near Seoul, South Korea. Below us was the border and all of the background you see is North Korea.

We were on a military base. They have incredibly strict rules that say you cannot take pictures of North Korea. The penalty is up to three years in prison and a $30,000 fine. So of course, we were not taking pictures.

While we were eating, an employee came over and said "give me your phone." I handed him my phone and before I knew what has happening, he looked around to see if he was being watched, took this picture, handed back my phone and said "don't let anyone see your phone until you leave the DMZ!"

As we were leaving I said, "Can I post this?" and he replied "Yes, I don't know who you are. We never met!"

WTF just happened. In all my travels, this may be the craziest thing ever.

-----

History": North and South Korea are still at war. There has been a cease-fire for 75 years. The war has never officially ended. To help keep the peace there is an area between the countries called the DMZ (demilitarised zone.) Ironic name as it's the most heavily militarized place on earth.

Nearly a million soldiers patrol the border and there are more than 2 million land mines around all the barbed wire, electric fences, artillery, etc.

This is the real deal here!

Hot travel tip... always take public transportation when you travel international. We just got to Seoul, South Korea yesterday and this is the subway puzzle we had to solve lol

It's so confusing, sometimes difficult and you don't always wind up where you were trying to get to. These are all the reasons it's fun. It's a real live phone game and the penalty for losing is getting to see something you've never seen before.

Aside from the adventure, this is a great way to immerse your a elf in the local culture and experience a little bit of the daily lives of the people you are meeting.

Tonight, the top of Seoul, S. Korea. Tomorrow, the DMZ!

(OK, not even close to the top. Our hotel has only 25 floors. I'll get to the top of the tallest building in Seoul before I leave though and post another video of me trying not to paiss myself lol)

Would you eat rat?

What's the strangest food you've ever eaten?

We've done raw horse, raw horse liver, raw whale, raw chicken, and the strangest of all, avacado toast. Even though this rat was cooked first at a roadside food stand, it was still a bit of a challenge lol.

And I was joking. I would never eat avocado toast!

"Killing Fields" and Genocide Museum (S-21), Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

This was one of the most important stops of out SE Asia Tour as we visited the capital of Cambodi to learn first hand what occured under the communist reign of Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge from 1975-1979.

I won't rehash the details here, but if you aren't familiar, Pol Pot had more than 2 million of his own people (25-30% of the population) tortured and murdered in an attempt to create a perfect, classless utopia.

The most striking park to me was the realization in a country of the most kind and beautiful people you could ever meet, you cannot find a singe older person who hasn't had multiple family members murdered in their lifetime.

This country has risen from the depths to become one of the most beautiful and peaceful places on earth!

Are you all down with snakes? I mean, as long as they aren't on top of a tall building or on a plane of course.

Just had a panic attack on top of the 17th tallest (1,513') building in the world!

I've been taking you all along as I try to get past my fear or heights. I've shown a series of successes but if I don't also show the misses its not honest.

Tonight was both. I went to the top of Landmark 81 in Saigon, Vietnam. When I stepped out of the elevator I had a panic attack. My head started spinning, my palms got sweaty, I felt like the floor was sloping towards the edge and thought I was going to throw up. It was bad.

On the positive side though, they set us right up against the window and I refused to change seats. I was committed to sitting where they sat me. I ended up making it all the way through desert and then even went up the stairs to the upper deck before we left.

I am psyched that I didn't back down. At the same time, I was up there for an hour and it never got easier. Normally my brain adjusts and I start to relax after a while but that didn't happen this time. And hour after we got there my palms were still soaked.

So I'm calling this a setback. Every new challenge had been getting easier but not this time. Now I need to figure out why and not stop trying.

If I can do this, you can do the thing that scares you!
