Unfortunately we have more bad news in the travel world. Universal Studios just announced they are temporarily closing their parks. The hotels and City Park will stay open for the time being. That's in addition to Disney World, as mentioned in another post. Adventures by Disney is also suspending trips, except their Australian adventure. Disney Cruiseline also announced yesterday it was suspending cruises (as are most of the cruise lines). Pray for an end to this! 2 Chronicles 7:14

Out of an abundance of caution and to assist with our nation’s preventive efforts, Universal Orlando Resort will temporarily close its theme parks. The closure is effective at the close of business on Sunday, March 15. We anticipate remaining closed through the end of March – but will continue to evaluate the situation.

Universal Orlando’s hotels and Universal CityWalk will remain open.

We have created flexible programs for those guests who have booked travel packages or tickets with us. Guests can call this number for more information: 877-801-9720. A core group of team members will continue to work on site. Hourly team members will be paid for any work scheduled through the end of March.

UPDATE: We saw this one coming when we heard about Disney Land. This really stinks coming up on Spring Break for many. We'll post any other updates as we get them.

BREAKING: Theme parks at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disneyland Paris Resort will close from the morning of March 15 through the end of the month, spokesperson says.

We want to keep you as informed as we can on the latest news. As this is a fluid situation, information changes almost daily. As of right now, you can still travel, but if you choose not to, American Airlines, as well as other airlines are temporarily waiving change fees.

We here at Xcursions Travel want to address the Coronavirus outbreak that is hurting the travel industry right now. We know that sadly many have lost their lives to this virus, but we are also aware many others still have lost their lives to flu. If you are high risk or immunosuppressed, the CDC is recommending you not travel. If you are healthy, then go for it! The CDC has also stated the airlines and cruise ships are to take all necessary precautions and adapt strict sanitation practices to combat this illness (and others). Please don't let media hype keep you from living! There will be drastic discounts on resorts and cruises, and flights to stimulate the travel industry again. You will want to take advantage of this opportunity. So please contact us and let us plan your next vacation. If you have a vacation planned through us, we can help you with your cancellation. Many resorts and cruise lines are refunding in full. This is why using a travel specialist is in your best interest. We can handle all of this headache for you. And as always, you dont pay for our services!

Speaking at a White House press conference tonight, Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of NIAD, told reporters if you are healthy, there is no reason to eschew cruise vacations.

Disney Dining Plan Plus
Starting today, Disney Resort hotel guests can add Disney Dining Plan Plus to their Walt Disney vacation package. A Disney dining plan offers something for everyone as it is a convenient and flexible way for Walt Disney World guests to pre-pay for meals and eat at dining locations throughout our four theme parks, Disney Resort hotels and select locations at Disney Springs. With Disney Dining Plan Plus, guests get two meals per night of their package stay to redeem at either table service restaurants, quick service locations, character dining experiences, or a combination – giving them more flexibility.

In addition, the Disney Dining Plan Plus option includes two snacks per night, one Disney Resort hotel refillable drink mug (which can be used at any Disney Resort hotel quick-service location), and at each meal, unlimited refills of fountain sodas, single-service teas and brewed coffee, or one non-alcoholic specialty beverage, and for guests 21 and older with valid ID, one beer, wine or cocktail. Meals can be redeemed in any order and in any combination. Unused meals and snacks rollover day to day.

Disney World News: First Look at Disney's New Guardians of the Galaxy ride vehicles coming to EPCOT!

As you can see in the video – provided by Walt Disney Imagineering – each individual cab in the attraction’s OmniCoaster ride system will direct the Guest's eyes to the story happening around them. Instead of whizzing by the action, the system will fully immerse Guests in the attraction’s story from the minute they take off.

At Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind the adventure will start in the “Galaxarium,” a planetarium-like exhibition that explores the similarities and mysteries of the formation of Earth’s galaxy and Xandar. Your Clients will be invited to learn more about Xandar’s treasures – until the moment when the Guardians of the Galaxy arrive, and adventures across the cosmos ensue.

Who says Villains can only come out at Halloween? Get ready for Disney Villains After Hours! Tickets go on sale soon – April 29, 2019 – for this wicked fun special event, offered on select nights this summer from June 6-Aug. 8, 2019.

A dark magic is taking over Magic Kingdom Park and inviting your Clients to run amuck in the Villains’ scary world. The party DJ gets things lit, energizing the castle stage with sick beats and transforming the entire Central Plaza of the park into a killer club scene. As the party heats up, the DJ introduces the “Caretaker” for the evening, the Lord of the Dead, Hades, who arrives in a burst of blue flames for the all-new show, “Villains Unite the Night.”

With Meg by his side, Hades sits atop his dark throne awaiting the alignment of five planets, following a prophecy that states when the five come together he will be able to rule the universe. But this dastardly plan doesn’t go quite as expected, when an assemblage of Disney Villains interrupts his party. Jafar, The Queen, Dr. Facilier and Maleficent arrive with henchmen in tow, prepared to showcase their power with spine-tingling displays of skill. It seems these Villains have also heard the prophecy and believe they are the ones who will rule all.

“I think Guests will really be impressed with ‘Villains Unite the Night!’” said Kate Pappas, managing producer with Disney Parks Live Entertainment. “This show is going to be more than 20 minutes long and run three times each night of the event, so everyone will have a chance to see all these great Villains on stage. Add in our amazing DJ, and the hub of the park will be pulsing with energy all night long!”

During the evening’s revelry, the Maleficent Dragon, with her Steampunk style and signature wicked grin, is freed from the “Festival of Fantasy” parade and let loose at night for the first time, breathing fire as she creeps through the park with her minions to join the party at the Central Plaza.

Beyond the castle forecourt, ominous lighting and music abound. In Tomorrowland, the Villains invade Space Mountain, taking daring voyagers on a villainous trip they won’t soon forget, with a new music underscore and the vilest Villains taunting you as you whiz by. And over in Adventureland, a live crew of scurvy scalawags invades Pirates of the Caribbean in search of treasure.

Disney Villains After Hours also includes wickedly good food and beverage selections, special event merchandise and low wait times at more than 20 attractions and experiences across the park. It all adds up to a party like no other.

As a reminder, this event does not include character greetings with the Villains. Tickets for Disney Villains After Hours will be available starting on April 29, 2019 and are $139 plus tax in advance or $144 plus tax on the event night.
