As well as years of memories and experiences that I cant wait to share with hopes that it will leave you yearning to get out there and see it all. Welcome to my travel page. traveler in you. I never knew I had a traveler inside until I saw people that looked different from me that weren’t on TV. Every place I travel makes me want to see more, and the more I see, the more I want to see. My appetite for travel is insatiable, as is my awe of all the beauty there is in the world. Having touched every continent besides Africa and Antarctica, my journey continues with my faithful suitcase in tow. As you read this blog my hope is that the stories and photos will awaken a desire in you to get out and see the world!! While you can! Its easier than you think and I will share through my stories how its possible to travel regularly and still maintain your life. Collecting memories and experiences are life’s little pleasures and my goal is to connect you with that thing inside, you know….in your gut, way way down that’s telling you to go out and do it. My photography may be amateur and my stories random, but they give a full and unadulterated account of travelling solo as a young female with nothing more than a trusty camera phone and an over packed suitcase. So take a journey with me as I haul my suitcase around the globe in search of wonder, culture, romance and life.

Because our current circle may not have the means, time off, ability to travel or willingness to travel with us right now. Building a business is hard. Building a global business in a third world country- the hardest! But we move!

Hundreds and hundreds of hours of planning goes into making a group trip successful. I am so blessed to have a great team and even better clients coming on the trip! Bali will be one for the books and I can’t wait!

I reflected on this verse today as I started crafting this caption.

Navigator.Captain.WorldTraveler.Entrepreneur.Daughter.Sister. Friend. I wear so many hats and am so many things to so many people. But above all I am a child of God. God has placed in me purpose, and as he continues to guide my path, I realize that this is just the beginning. The beginning of new things for my brand, my business, my life. I am living an answered prayer. 🙏🏾

I’ve decided to pull back the veil a little bit and show a bit more of my personality and share a bit more of my life and my journey, and this brand refresh has allowed me to further merge my career and my passion in the cultivation of The Captain That Travels.

Hi I’m Sandy’s Suitcase also known as the Captain that travels. As most other Bahamians, I first got my passport probably around 6 months old. my earliest memory of travel was going to Miami with my family, because in the Bahamas that’s how we vacation. We go to Miami or Ft. Lauderdale to shop and we go to Orlando for the theme parks- it’s a right of passage.

However my international travel journey started with me being thrown feet first into the fire. While in my final semester in college I was hired by a Fortune 500 company and got orders to fly to the Phillipines shortly after graduation for orientation and training. And then had to fly to the Middle East to join my vessel. The rest as they say is history!

Welcome to my digital diary of how I started Sandy’s suitcase and how my career in the maritime industry was the catalyst for all the beauty and amazing things I have been able to experience.

Being pushed into solo travel was what I needed to get me out of my shell and thrust into the world. I hope I inspire you to travel deeper and to face your fears.

Where do I start!! From the group chat prior to the trip, I knew these ladies were gonna be a vibe! We came together as 17 strangers and left as friends! We descended on Bali and proceeded to leave our mark on the island through our interactions with the people, immersing ourselves in the local culture and taking in all the positive vibes. Everywhere we went we were met with kind and loving people that made our trip even that more special.
